It's cleanable and the ribbon can be replaced. It would look like new again.
Agreed! Don't toss her out.

In other words, now it finally has character. I love hats that looked "lived in."View attachment 21190
Here are some sweat stains with a ribbon so rotten it is about to fall off. This Bobby is three and a half years old and is at a stage where I am embarrassed by its condition in public. It has been worn daily and has lasted an extra year due to drought conditions. Thankfully my kids have bought me a new one for Christmas.

Nice pciture. But again, a hatter can return it to a better shape and still be wearable for more 2 years. My son is wearing my previous Bobby in all its holey and stained glory. This particular hat only lasted two and a half years due to a very wet La Nina year which really takes its toll.
I have some with feathers too, but not so bigJoao, I'm not huge on feathers either but sometimes a hat just needs one. I think those are my only two hats with feathers.
This is the only pic I have of it, JB, but it's one of my favorite hats.Does anybody have a black Federation IV that you could show pictures of? So far, I have the dark brown and tawny fawn hats, which are great. Now, I'm thinking whether or not I'd get another one of those, and in which color?

See if this works. My Akubra Silver Spur with turkey feather.
Thank you, Blackthorn! Black is a nice color, that's something I'll think about.
Thank you, Preacher Man. I can't decide whether I'm California Amish or Hasidic Gentile.Blackthorn, that black Fed looks great on you brother!!
Anyway, the hat is awesome. It's just what I wanted. It's not a fine work of art, nor a museum piece, but it is a thoroughly solid work hat. And yes, 4" of brim really is a lot; however, I'm 6'4, so I can pull off the brim. Now I just want the bad weather or some yard/field work to come!

4" brim! Nice
I've always loved the wider brims anyway, but I gotta tell you: this is the first time that I haven't thought with a hat, "I wish the brim were a little wider." I belong to Joao's team!
