Javier, hvae you checked out David Morgans for the Stylemaster? I got mine from there several months ago after comparing their price with shipping with Hats Direct and it worked out about the same with out an additional waiting period on shipping. The Style MAster is a great hat.

Javier,

David Morgan sells the Stylemaster and the Sydney too. Usually only takes a couple of days for the delivery. Can't help you on the colors.

Blackthorn,

I took a closer look at my Riverina and I think I spoke too soon. My Riverina has vent grommets on both sides and the brim is bound. So I'm not sure what you've got but it looks nice.

I was thinking the same thing about the grommets, Landman. I think maybe someone put the pug around it later at some point, but I think I'm going to like it.

Is the price difference worth the wait and not supporting a US business?

I do not mean to sound judgemental or confrontational: I myself bought from Hats direct only a few weeks ago, and asked myself the very same question [albeit from my side of the pond].

Difference is the answer was easier as the price difference with UK sellers is ...significant on most Akubras and they don't have the Fed IV (or if they do I could not find it).

But having seen a few threads about businesses throwing the towel - either closing or retiring - I though it was something worth raising

I wouldn't worry to much about it. DavidMorgan is not primarily a hat business. They are an outfitter, one that happens to have the Akubras we all crave. Actually, the same could be said of EverythingAustralian. DavidMorgan is also a Filson and Tilley dealer. I don't think that you choosing to buy Australian is going to be much of a loss for them. I wouldn't worry about it. :)

Plus, those folks at Hatsdirect are just downright delightful. I recently bought several hats from them---of course they were all Feds which are not available anywhere else. I did just purchase a green Stylemaster from John Helmer Haberdasher, located in Portland, OR but that was only because I didn't want to wait three months to get one from EverythingAustralian. It did feel good to buy from an American dealer, I must admit.

Can you post a picture of that when you get it? I'm curious just "how green" it will be.

Here you go. This is actually a fairly accurate representation of the difficult-to-describe shade of green. Plus, for $15 shipping, I had the hat within two days! I have not removed it from my head since I received it Saturday morning--- except for sleeping, of course. I didn't think I'd love it so much because of the slightly tapered crown. Gotta love those Akubras!

If that's an accurate rep, JB, it's almost a brown, then? That's how it appears to me on this screen.

Isn't it just a Bluegrass Green? Like this color?

Update: I added a bit more vibrance and contrast, as the sunlight seemed to flood out my lens a bit. This is as close as I can possibly come to the true color of Bluegrass Green, as my eyes see it, in warm sunlight.
