Aero Premiere Half Belt fit opinions and fit pics.

Strange, When I got their fit jacket..I tried it on then sent them a pic of how it fit me. They recommended that I take an inch off the sleeves since the model that I was ordering had wider shoulders. I sent the fit jacket back and when I received my jacket it fit perfectly. If you did this, I don't see how you could go wrong.

I don't know. I had nothing to do with how the test jacket I was sent, translates over to a Premiere fit.

Just like you, I sent in fit pics.

I was really hoping to open the box and have the jacket fit like a dream.
I am quite sure the vendor will help me out as they seem to be good people.

The vender couldn't tell by your fit jacket pics that neither model would fit and sleeves were definitely way too long? Something certainly seems out of whack.

No, it's definitely not your imagination. The original was a size too large! That thing they've sent you is like 3 sizes off, not just one. You look like a small kid wearing his dads leather jacket. It's ridiculous. Send it back asap!

Could they have made you a regular 30s Halfbelt instead of the premier version? The reason I mentioned this is because the collar shape does not look like the collars they put on the Premier jackets. It looks like a regular 30s Halfbelt collar. Also did you check the measurements of this jacket with the order document that the vendor gave you a copy of before submitting the order to Aero? It could help clarify where the miscommunication occurred. I also looked up the fit jacket measurements from the vendor site for comparison as well and posted it below. Hopefully things will work out in a timely manner for you

As I mentioned earlier, this thread is just for fit picture opinions. I am not trying to solve a mystery of what happened or create any negativity about the vendor. Fit issues can happen.

It is...same stuff as my 50's HB...it's legendary but useless if the fit isn't good.

How is the fit in the shoulders, arms (other than length) and chest? I own a Premier Halfbelt and I feel it fits trim in the shoulders, armholes and chest. However the waist and hem area are quite straight and loose. Despite the Premier range being a trimmer cut, it is still a straight cut and may not fit a “V” shaped body type exactly. If the jacket fits well in the shoulders, arms and chest but too loose in the waist and hem then it’s a problem of the pattern not fitting your body type. If this is the case then going down a size may not work since the shoulders and chest will be too snug. I had to cinch up the side straps quite a bit to get a more closer fit in the waist and hem. Have you tried tightening up the side straps and seeing if the fit is better?
I was told the STF bootlegger and hooch hauler are more V tapered than the Halfbelt. If the shoulders, chest and arms are too loose then the entire jacket is too big and you should have sized down.

For comparison I’m adding pics of the fit of my size 40 Premier half belt. You can see that the shoulder, chest and arms fit well but the waist and hem are quite loose and I have a lot of flaring at the hem like your fit pics.

Interesting info @Radz108 . I'm surprised to hear that the premier range doesn't slim the torso in the same way the shoulders and upper arms are slimmed. I suppose an answer could then be to drop size the waist from the chest to hem. I did that with great success with my 50's HB. I would've assumed the premier pattern had this built in.

In my new Ridley I could also pull away the jacket at l least 3 inches in the hip area (see picture). Of course I could use the cinches to make it more tapered but in some styles I think, especially with a thicker hose, it looks quite nice if the jacket is not too tight.
However, I agree that the fit of the jacket shown above looks off.

For example the jacket in this picture (I don’t know who it is) looks great even if not super trim!

My size 40 Premier Halfbelt shoulders are 17.5 pnp 21.5 and a hem of 20.5. It’s a much straighter cut for the premier range. Both my size 40 bootleggers have 19.5 Shoulders, 24.5 p2p and 20" bottom hem...

If this thread teaches me anything, then it is that I dislike the Premier Halfbelt pattern.. I would never get that. The 1930s HB pattern is just SO MUCH nicer imo. Broader shoulders and a decent taper through the body.

I don't think that the hem area is too loose on the Premier Half Belt pattern. Size 40.

neck opening though, it fits narrow from the pictures, can they custom size that part, otherwise the jacket can't be zipped totally on smaller size if the neck is hard sized following the pattern without option to custom.

The main problem with Aero is that they don’t make public the measurements of their standard sizes. I tried to ask them when buying my grizzly recently in order to decide what size to purchase but they said they don’t have that info. So there are jackets labelled in the same way with pretty different measurements, I think one really needs to go jacket by jacket, no two are the same.

A good rule of thumb with the standard half belt line seems to be dropping a size from waist to chest. That will help create a more v shaped torso. I didn't do this on my 30's HB and I had to cinch the belt all the way in. I did do this with my 50's HB and I set the belt right about half way. I think if you have to pull both sides all the way in there's too material there and it's just too large in the gut.
