THere's not much ponit them keeping a lot of patterns available for a model they don't make more thaqn a couple of, though personally I much prefer a wider range of sotck models over going custom.

I honestly don't understand why they would cut models...its not like they have to keep stock of ready made jackets that just sits there unsold tying up capital...they just have the pattern available and if someone wants it they make it specifically for them. Surely the patterns don't take up much room??

We're not discontinuing leather styles, that was in reference to non-leather goods, some lines being run down so we can invest in other options :)

Furthermore, we really appreciated the huge attendance at our 2016 Open Day, with so many visitors flying to Scotland plus a steady flow from South of the Border as well as all our locals. So, to show our appreciation for everyone making the trip to Galashiels we like to give something back for the effort, at the last show we put on live music courtesy of The Shivering Sheiks. However, having them play showed us we've not really got room for a band so instead at this sale there will be two prize draws going on during the Saturday, with several prizes in each, up to a Love Aero Bible and a Shackleton waistcoat.

Gutted I can't make this - hopefully there will be another Aero open day next year?

Are Aero coming to the Goodwood Revival this year?

I'm hoping they have a standard HWM in my size...I'll be sending it straight to JL to have a mouton collar installed and create a proper winter jacket. Between the premo HWM and a standard equipped for winter I think I'd be set.

I made it (unsurprisingly). Sadly, the Winward was too big for me... however, a size 34 barnstormer in dark seal Vicenza was too much to resist...
I didn’t arrive until midday, well after the rush, and there was still lots of choice - I commend the 38 cafe racer in battered steer to you all. I’ll be posting a thread on my surprise purchase later.

I made it too, my first visit. Quite impressed. Was a bit crazy to begin with but managed to pick up two jackets after a bit of disappointment the Majestic would not work for me. Noticeable spaces in the rails by the time I was leaving so it seems to have been a success.

Thirle? Where's Thirle? I thought that The Chap Olympiad was in Bloomsbury.

It was originally on Hampstead Heath, then in 2009 they partnered with Bourne & Hollingsworth for the event and it ran in Bedford Square Gardens just off Tottenham Court Road until 2018. The Chap are now no longer working with B&H. This year, there was no London-based event, but we did a shorter one in Thirle. Hopefully there will be a London one in the futre agaion at some point, but we'll have to wait and see. The challenge, I think, is finding a venue in London that is acessible without being prohibitively expensive, bearing in mind especially the public liability insurance these things need nowadays (some drunken fool fell off the stage a few years ago and tried to sue).

ETA: Thirle is an estate about five miles outside Lewes. Handy for Chap HQ, which is of course based in Lewes. Beautiful grounds. There has been a Thirle Vintage Weekend for several years now; it's sort of a Summer Fete with antique and vintage clothing stalls, bits and pieces of entertainment, quite relaxed and a lot of fun. Free entry for anyone arriving in a vintage car. Some lovely motors there, including a very nice MG Magnette.

I’m surprised to see a few small sizes I had my eye on still available on the sale section and blue label.

Will wait to see what appears tomorrow but I’m also saving for other stuff... grrr.

I have 2 Aero jackets and an Eastman to sell though. So money would come back to me.

A heads up for everyone waiting for tomorrow's sale...

As yesterday's sale was so busy in the factory it's left us all exhausted, so we've taken the day off to recover. As a result of this, the online sale will now be running for 48 hours, with some additional vintage and non-leather end of line items and slight seconds to be added throughout tomorrow, as and when we can.

In addition, please note that items sold during this sale will be non-refundable, we can exchange or give credit if there is anything you’d like to return. The reason for this, is during the last sale we had a problem with customers buying up many items and returning most of them which is unfair on other shoppers. We’d love for everyone to find something that would be right for them.

Fantastic policy if you ask me!
I’ll be jumping on a plane, with essentially 24 hours of travel ahead of me just as you go live tomorrow.
Talk about a double whammy! Not able to attend in person & most likely unable to purchase online :-(
AND there’s a size 44 BR that I’m really keen on...
D’oh!

I do wish everyone the very best of luck though finding something special & very much appreciate the enormity of the task that the small Aero team have no doubt had to manage here.

So if you buy online and it doesn't fit you can't get a refund ... bearing in mind there probably won't be the same item in a different size ....

I understand it's their business but thought distance selling regs would apply ... obviously not.

Items would be exchangeable, or credit given which falls into line with distance selling regulations I'm afraid, we're trying to do what is fair for most people. Last sale, people were buying up 5/6 jackets and only keeping one, which meant there was less for other people to get their hands on at sale prices.

Uhh... Is Directive 2011/83/EU not a thing in the UK? I mean, you never really know with the UK when it comes to special arrangements with the EU but I'd think it is.

I mean, I understand it's annoying when people order 5 jackets at once and then return them all, but still.. say I am very interested in that Goatskin Dustbowl and order it and then it does not fit, there's no Goatskin Dustbowl in any other size and for the money I won't get a new one made either, so now I can't get the jacket I want nor my money back? That's kind of ridicoulous. Maybe you should set up a one jacket per customer rule instead? @cloudylemonade
