Aero Barnstormer in Seal Vicenza

As promised, here's some fit pics of my purchase from Aero's sale. I've always liked the barnstormer design but wasn't sure 'it was me'. Well, Ken insisted I give this one from the sale rack a go, and it turns out I was wrong!
To use a Scottish term, this one is a stoater: the mid-weight seal Vicenza is closer to dark chocolate than the milk chocolate of Horween's FQHH, set-off nicely by the subtle OD green thread. But if this all appears a bit sober and severe, there's an eye-popping heavy, Strom-weight Aberdeen tartan lining.
Anyway, the fit's on the nail - remarkably it's a size 34, so I can wear it with just a jumper under it - and because it's not FQHH, it's got an inside pocket! Anyway, enough gab, here are the pics:

As good as it gets. I have the Eastman black version without the handwarmer pockets and it’s so nice to have a winter coat on this style.

Fits you really well

Can I commend the strome tartan for anyone thinking about warmer linings. It’s substantial without being unwieldy, so you can still layer.

Looks awesome! The Barnstormer is one of my favorite patterns but can't justify getting one here in Texas. The tartan looks wonderful as well. All around excellence.

Really nice jacket and appears as if it was made for you. I think the Vicenza is a better choice (over FQHH) for a double breasted coat. Yes to the interior pocket as well!

Thanks, Grayland. I agree on the fit, I couldn't have done it better if I'd specced it myself. I definitely feel the Vicenza was the better option for me - a FQHH Barnstormer is a lot of leather for one person - though it's still a pretty formidable jacket!

I wondered what the surprise purchase was! Like you, it's not a style I've gravitated to personally but it looks great in your photos and, more importantly, it looks perfect on you. All that's missing is Bernard Fox to comment, "I say, well done old chap, that's a purchase to be right royally proud of!"

Is this the jacket Aero used in their newspaper adverts back in the day? I'm sure they used to advertise in The Independent back in the 90's, and the image was of a jacket like this....
