I really know very little about vintage suits, especially belted back sport coats. I stopped into a local vintage clothing store the other day and found this really cool belted back sport coat. It appears to be styled exactly like a 1930's coat. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me, but I couldn't just leave it at the store. It appears to be a 40R (based on measurements) and its cut fairly trim like 30's coats as well. There is no size tag. There is a tag with the date Jan 21st, 1973. In the 70's there was a resurgence of belted back styles that looked exactly like 1930's styles. When I first saw the coat, I thought it was a 30's coat until I found the date.
