1930s ACWA chesterfield coat

Hello!

Last year, I bought a nice-looking 1930s chesterfield coat on an online auction.
It has an Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (ACWA) tag inside in a good condition.
Judging from the photo on this article, its design is quite similar to the c.1933 AWCA tag, so I am pretty sure that this coat is from 1930s.

Now, here is a question.
This coat features a fly-front (covered button placket), which is common for a classic chesterfield coat but there are no stitches between the buttonholes.
As far as I know, normally a chesterfield coat with a fly-front has small stitches between the button holes, joining the upper and lower placket layers, so that the closure stays closer to the body when wearing the coat.

I looked carefully, but I don't see any traces of stitches on the layers (found some loose threads, but I think they are too thin to join the layers).
Does anybody own a coat like this or have information regarding this?

Thank you.
