1920s Elk Brand, Fur Felt Fedora, Size 7, 2-5/8” Brim, 5-1/2” Crown.
Made by Tullio Bertasio in Italy for US import.
The felt is in nice shape with no moth damage, but there are a few light spots on the top of the brim at the front. The ribbon and bow are good except for a snag in the ribbon on the opposite side from the bow. The binding has wear at the front edge. The sweatband is nice and supple, but does have a couple spots of flaking at the front. There is no liner.
I’m estimating the 1920s date based on the style, dimensions, the factory tag style and the fact that the only ads I found in the USA (Georgia and Missouri) for Tullio Bertasio hats were from 1921 and 1923.
