What does that mean, and can someone offer pictures of what that might look like, both new and aged?

Thank you!

Waxy refers to the waxy finish/ feel of the leather. pull up is the look. Sometimes you can see dark/lighter streaks where the hide has been pulled-up out of the dye, or gets lighter when you stretch it.

Thanks, Handymike. That’s helpful. Seems like a very organic leather.

Here's a quote from Holly @ Aero:
An "Oil Pull" or pull-up leather is a full aniline leather that is packed with oils and waxes during tanning. When the leather is "pulled" (hence the name), the oils thin causing the colour to become lighter in the areas where it's been stretched. Once the leather is made into a garment some areas are pulled and creased more than others producing a natural variation of colour and producing a naturalaged look on the elbows, seams, and other areas where the natural folds of the garment occur.

Despite it's name this leather has a clean dry surface, if it's tanned correctly it should not be greasy or oily to the touch in any way.

This type of leather is commonly used on better quality leather sofas & chairs, that's where I have been more familar with it.

Awesome—now it’s very clear. I am going to pull the trigger on the Schott 575 as a beater.

They look like a great jacket (more than a beater) I would have bought one in the other colour but at 25 inches they are too short for me.

Hey. I posted this a year ago and I did purchase the jacket. It was an absolute disappointment. The unlined interior stuck to the skin like a wet, rubber blanket (which wasn’t the case with the Mister Freedom unlined Campus jacket and the Aero Leathers unlined Western shirt). The cuts were uneven and the seam edges jagged. The threads were incomplete and they had runs. I packed it right back into the box and returned it.

I had another Schott jacket prior, a 1-Star cross-zip motorcycle jacket, and it was terrific.

Thanks for the update. I don't think any un-lined leather jacket would be practical or comfortable to wear. Too sweaty, too sticky. Sorry to hear about the poor quality too. You were 100% right to return in straightaway.

Unlined jackets are great - I've had a couple and made my own by pulling out the lining of a cafe racer. You really don't notice and there is no downside. I was thinking of having a custom unlined jacket made at one point with some thin hide inside the jacket along the back and shoulders and leather pocket interiors.
