i also found some helpful reviews on basenotes.net
Yes, Mitsouko does have a peach note, personally I find the whole thing so well blended that the individual notes don't stand out from each other very strongly but as it dies down you get the peachy warmth from it.
I was searching for a vintage signature perfume and yesterday found Guerlain's Mitsouko. I bought it on impulse and am so glad I did, since I got it home, I absolutely love it, its so rich and mysterious. Its strange that when I looked it up on the internet, it was created in 1919 and I love the...
Don't tell me the ending!
Really enjoying a Fitzgerald 'season' of reading for myself at the mo and hubby bought me a copy of this which I have just started. It came with two other shorts, 'The diamond as big as the Ritz' which I enjoyed and 'Bernice bobs her hair' which was great fun. I have...
Egyptian revival
I found it very interesting to read in Paul's research about the Egyptian influence on 1920's make up. I know it existed in clothes too, must do more research. I was in Egypt in August and was left completely haunted by the tombs, the carvings, the temples everything! Its funny...
1920's undies!
Thanks to Mojito and Paul for all the great info! I should have given more detail in my post, as I had read the previous page, I guess I was thinking along the lines of images and more detail. Paul, I enjoyed your really informative web page, it was great to see how the stockings...
underwear of the 20's
Mojito, (and the other experts on this thread) what did they wear in terms of underwear? I know corsets were gone at this stage. Thanks
starting my collection!
Thanks Mojito! Yes there is a small hole, it was described by the seller and i'm hoping to repair it though she points out that it can't be seen with the black slip, as you say, the dress would be lovely with other colour slips too, I'm so excited to see it!
The one I lost out on and the consolation!
I love this thread and have gotten really into 20's style! I thought the ladies of this thread might appreciate seeing my first purchase. I tried for the the gold lame number, which was in beautiful condition with its slip with lame trim and gold...

questions about stockings
Hi, I wonder if some of you ladies can advise me, I have alot of questions about stockings! Firstly, does 'fully fashioned' just refer to seemed? What are the best materials, (i'm sure this is largely a matter of opinion) What would be the authentic colour and style...
4 purchases I'm waiting on!
I'm so looking forward to these! I'm like a child watching out for the post everyday, which is frustratingly slow out here in the country! Well thats part of the fun! (The fur is Ermine)...
post birth corset etc
Hi, Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions! I've been told that over here even though you are expected to work on the muscles when they're ready, many women also use some light control garments to help put pressure on things to contract back to normal. This is...
corsets & girdles after birth
Don't know maybe this should be a separate thread but I'm due a baby at the end of Jan and will be hoping to get my waist back as quickly as I can. Does any one know of a particular corset or girdle that would be good? Are there any problems if I end up having a c...
surprise response
As I was saying in my blog, I was nervous today because I got a call from my sis that she was coming over to visit. I have always loved 40's glamour, she knows this already but i only recently started to live it! She would be glamourous in a modern, ironed hair, fake tan etc...
