Hi Loungers,
I'm on the hunt for a good quality cashmere sweater. I imagine that would be Scottish cashmere (4 ply maybe) as I understand they are the best, or at least very good. Does anyone have a good source for a relatively decent price? Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine is looking for an Outbackish Lightweight lower profile style hat with a rather wide brim for blocking the Sun. He's a near pro golfer and he's looking for something that will suit him on the course and around town. He's not looking for something too formal, but...
Which kind of zipper.. Metal or plastic
Hi Loungers,
I'm thinking about getting a briefcase and my understanding that many of the good quality ones I see on various sites appear to use plastic zippers for their inside rear document compartment (Like Custom Hide for example). For some reason...
I own the 405's
I have a pair of the Alden 405's. For me, they're a very, very comfortable boot. However, in my opinion, they don't feel as substantial as I expected. They feel a bit "thin" to me. Overall I'm pretty happy with them, but I've yet to find my dream boot. I'm interested in...
Update
Rick, I have to tell you... So I went to this Halloween costume party last night and there were about 3 or 4 other Indiana Jones characters there (out of about 200 people). I must have had at least 5 people come up to me to say that I had the best, most accurate rendition going...
Thanks
Doublegun,
A most informative take on the Filson bag. Just what I was looking for. Sounds like this bag is in my near future. I'm looking for something for the essentials and this seems to do nicely. Thanks.

Got the Adventurer
Rick, Well, picked up the Adventurer hat from Hornets Hats. It seems to fit the bill nicely at a fairly decent price. Thanks again!

The Field Bag
I do really dig the Filson Medium field bag. I'm thinking of picking up one of those. Can you describe that bag a bit more? Are there any internal pockets at all? Are the zippers sturdy etc? Thanks.
Hi Loungers,
You can probably guess at this time of year why I'd be looking for an inexpensive Indy fedora. So I am wondering if anyone knows where I can pick one up in London. I'd like to use Halloween as an excuse to get the real deal, but I'll most likely need something really cheap just...
Photos
I took a couple of photos of the part of the boot that wasn't quite glued down correctly. They're extreme close ups and not really worth posting on TFL. I know I should have taken more photos of the boots. Again, nice boot.. with split lining ( I would have preferred top grain)...
Packer
I'm looking for sort of the same type of boot you're looking for. You may also want to consider White's Packer boots.. I've been drooling over these for the last 48 hours. They might be overkill and more rugged than the semi dress Traveler boot, but they do look awesome. I'm so...
Size fitting
I typically wear a 10 1/2. I ordered the Wolverine in a 10 1/2. With thick socks on there was some slight wiggle room which was tolerable. Your mileage may vary. I think there's always a risk of variation in sizing. I think it's best to just order your true size and test it...
Don't be too disappointed
Hi Doublegun,
I agree you should see them first. I don't think you'll be disappointed if the boot has no flaws to it and fits right. You can get them from Scoop NYC (check their website) but you have to phone them as I don't think they do internet sales at this...
I recently purchased a pair of the new Wolverine 1000 Mile boots and thought I’d share my thoughts, impressions, and verdict in case anyone is interested. Of course, all the opinions expressed are just my opinions. I have no affiliation to Wolverine or to any competitor. This is just my own...
Agree with JLStorm
I agree with JLStorm. Brown belt, brown boots are fine with the black jacket and jeans. Blaze your own trail. Now, if you'd have added "and a pink hat", I likely would have had issues.
Pulled the trigger
Hi Gents,
Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Wolverine 1,000 Mile boot. I'm a huge fan of the Darby as well. Maybe I'll pick those up on the next go round. In the meantime, I'll wait for my boots to arrive. Will give a review if anyone's interested...
Other side of the pond...almost
Hi Taggers,
Actually as luck would have it, I'm in Chicago for a couple of weeks. This is one reason I'm trying to scout out some boots while I'm here. Hoping to find my dream boots on this trip.
Drooling
I must confess, I can't get these Wolverine boots out of my head. I like the Darby style as well as the Burton and Montgomery styles (from the Garrison section). I'm not sure if all the styles aren't available yet, or only some of them. I don't see prices on these. Great find.
