Drifting in a different direction- Schott has two approaches to lining their aviator jackets, quilted lining like the 674 series or zip-in pile lining like the 184 series.
Anyone have experience with which setup is warmer/ better insulated?
I tried the vinegar/water suggestion on the lining in my Californian jacket without any change. Today I ran it through the washer on the hand wash cycle, cold water, with some woolite. The lining doesn't really look any cleaner after this either, oh well. Still, it should be cleaner than when it...
Also depends on if the materials are all natural or a natural/synthetic blend.
Jacquard iDye offers formulas for synthetic or natural, so in combination they can work pretty well when a garment isn't as advertised. ;)...
