It can be, but no hotter than any other hat I wear. There is a very comfortable interior headband, but in my case, every hat gets warm when I start heating up. I think I'd consider it more of a cool/cold weather hat, anyway.
I haven't been active on here for a couple of years, mostly because I stopped loading up on hats. Oh, I've bought a few baseball caps reflecting some of my passions and interests, but I've been very comfortable just wearing the fedoras I already own.
Add to that the fact that I retired last...
Don Everly, pioneering Everly Brothers musician, dead at 84
He was known for tracks like “Bye Bye Love,” “Let It Be Me,” “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “Wake Up Little Susie"
Rather than call Liddy an "actor," I'd refer to him as a "character." I had a personal encounter with him many years ago. I was working for Brooks Brothers when Liddy walked into the store wearing an A2 leather bomber jacket with a "downed American flyer" patch sown on the back. He was not a...
Real-life tough guy and unrepentant "Watergate burglar" G. Gordon Liddy, 90. The New York Times refers to him as the "mastermind" behind the "third-rate burglary" that took down President Richard Nixon.
If you're a distance runner, the name Dick Hoyt may be known to you. Even if you're not, you've likely seen photos of him pushing his wheelchair-bound son in the Boston Marathon. Thirty-two times, to be exact! Age 80,
"The dynamic father-son duo became best known for competing and...
In a recent post on another thread, I mentioned wearing a hat in inclement weather. I must say, whenever it's raining or blowing, I am always in a quandry trying to decide what hat to wear. Ironically, those are two of the major conditions best suited to hat wearing!
So, what do you folks do...
Rush Limbaugh had his adherents and his detractors. Death has not silenced that din. I give the man credit for spending his life doing what he loved, and building a brand when others would not have him. There are many who cannot make that claim.
Yes, it's paracord. I got into making paracord "things" a year or so ago; I made a zipper pull for a leather jacket of mine that had lost its metal one. I haven't done much since, but I have a couple of other paracord hatbands I wear on some of my straws.
I am always hesitant to wear a quality hat out when the weather is inclement. Today, the temperature is below freezing and we're getting the infamous "wintery mix." I have a goal to get out every day and get in at least 30 minutes of exercise (walking, biking, hiking, running) so I finally was...
Jazz keyboard great Chick Corea (born Armando Anthony Corea) of a rare form of cancer. He was 79. I had the pleasure of seeing him and the band Return to Forever in concert. Awesome!

It's been a while since I got a new hat, but I came to the realization that in my quest to keep my daily activity streak alive, I needed a hat to go along with two of my climate-specific jackets. I hesitated for a while, since it seemed a bit garish at first, but then I said, "What the heck...
Thanks to this forum, I have obtained a lot of information about the make, style, history and care of men's hats. I wear one every day, except for those days I don't go outdoors (which I try to do every day). I'm on the hunt for a particular color/style presently, but that's for another...
Oddly enough, I was speaking to a co-worker the other day about PlutoTV, the free service that includes a lineup of many "classic" television shows. To which he responded with, "Do they have Barney Miller re-runs?" I admitted I didn't know, but at the first opportunity to check, I found they...
