Thanks AF, I used to have a 8279F dated 1987,it seems that the outer shell is a lot thinner than C and D series, so I didn't keep it.
And I do want to thank you again, AF, I started collecting MA-1 jackets when I saw that photo of you wearing 1961 skyline with a jeep, it's so beautiful! I must...
I have 3 MA-1s, 1961 skyline, 1964 & 1965 Alpha, all have 58% wool 42% cotton interlining, the 1967 satellite has 100% wool pile interlining, which one is better?
Alpha made Nomex CWU-36/P and 45/P by goverment contract, and also made non-contract Nomex CWU-36/P and 45/P for civilian market.
As long as the tag has a goverment contract number, the fabric has to be Nomex.
Fidelity sportswear CPO looks fine.
I have a H&M CPO shirt, 65% wool if I don't remember wrong. It has a small problem, the collar stand has no lining, so my neck is always itching wearing it.
Thank you so much, Ian, I finally got my 34R last weekend, great condition and a pretty nice price. The jacket dated 1944, has some stains on the lining, but the outter shell is perfect.
I'd never seen a pic of Alpha Replica series, what's the difference between the Replica and the Vintage series? In what way the Replica series are more accurate?
Thanks Ian, what's your height and chest measurement? My height is 175cm, chest 90cm, shoulder 45cm, do you think the original M43 size 34R without liner is a good fit for me?
The MA1 I have is a Alpha Vintage Series, it has a green lining, it's probly made in 1990's. I think it's a lot better than the commercial version Alpha MA1 made in China. Buzz MA1 is a good choice, I just can't afford it:D
Thank you very much, Stand By, I am totally, absolutely convinced! No kidding. Sure I'm gonna wear it as much as I can, it's a great pleasure wearing A-2, I'm gonna leave all my other jackets like MA-1,CWU-36/P, 45/P in the closet this year:D
Yes, I agree with you that the light source would make a difference, maybe they used a special light source to make that jacket look like it has been worn for a longtime and show the right colour.
Thank you, Andrew, I did some homework about ELC A-2 in this forum before I ordered this jacket, I find your comment about ELC 1729 is very helpful, thanks again!
