Got this Stetson Grant 6x a few weeks ago for the winter. Hit it with some steam to get the brim up a bit more and good to go. This one is 6x but my SB Grant, which is about 5 years old, is 4x. I wonder if they are all 6x now.
I run through the words to songs that I'm learning. Tom Ames Prayer will have you snorin before ya know it goes on for a lot of verses...lol
Everyone in Nacadoches knew Tom Ames would come to some bad end
Well the sheriff had cought him stealin' chickens and such
By the time that he was ten...
I've been wearing a fur felt western all this summer. If it gets above 90 and humid I will wear straw but it has been cold in Toronto this summer so straw hat season was cancelled.
Thanks.
Yeah, the square crown shape is what I like about it. I got that one from Callisters a few years ago and I been thinking about getting another one in black if I can ever get around to ordering it. I was also thinking about getting one made with a 3.5 inch brim but, as you said, it looks...
Here ya go:
While I guess you could say it's similar to an Open Road in some ways dimensionally nevertheless the No. 11 profile and 3" brim make it seem a lot different to me. Small differences in hat shapes can make a big difference it how it looks on someone. The Open Road does not work...
Funny how it goes. I would never feel right wearing a fedora - just no way...lol I have an Open Road straw that I've never worn and probably never will. Stetson Range works best for me weather in a business suit or jeans and t-shirt. I have other westerns with wider brims but the Range suits me...
Yeah, those are driving shoes - I was giving the track car a workout that day.
I have a couple of pairs of these Dan Post boots that I wear most of the time with 501 jeans. Comfortable boots - no break-in just put em on and go:
I don't really pay much attention to dates for things - the ark sailed w/out me. I wear western felts in the winter and summer but I do have a Stetson Grant in straw which I wear when it gets well into the 90s. Also have an Open Road straw but never worn it because the brim is too narrow...
I wear western felts pretty much all the time because they are a real good cover that works for me way better than a ball cap or a fedora or whatever. I don't wear hats out of nostalgia for the past or because I want to be Roy Rogers or something. Westerns suit my demeanor and I can wear em so...
This Stetson Grant that I bought about 5 years ago but never wore too much. Been wearing a Stetson Range pretty much every day for the last two years and it's getting a bit scruffy so I got the Grant out and reshaped it a bit with a good shot of steam and now I guess I'll wear it for awhile.
