I have 4 Aero Highwayman. I am 5'8", weight 160. I normally wear a size 40. I have 2 size 40 jackets, a size 42, and a size 38. The jackets that fit me perfectly are the 2 size 40 labeled jackets. The size 42 was too large, so I had to draw it in by shrinking it some. The size 38 jacket I...
I have found that on new goatskin, (eg my Aero 422A), it requires multiple applications of Pecards to get it to soften up. I put on a coat of Pecards, let it soak in over 3-4 days, and when it is soaked in, just repeat. The Aero 422 A was so stiff, it required 4 times or so.
I have also...
Measurements?
1. Pit to pit
2. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam
3. Sleeve from shoulder seam to end of cuff
4. Back length from collar seam to bottom end of waist knit.
5. Front length along front flap.
Thanks
Same here. I wore one of my Highwayman jackets without storm cuffs the other day, and the cold air up the sleeves was a bit of a negative, I missed the storm cuffs. I too grab the cuff of my shirt, or sweater and pull them down to the end into the storm cuff.

I had never read the Hobbit (nor the Lord of the Rings), but knew of the story line, based on the 1978 Rankin-Bass cartoonized version of the story. I decided to read the Hobbit a week before the movie came out. The movie is getting a lot of criticism that I think is based on peoples...
I agree here also. Stating measurements may not say whether a certain garment may fit well, but it can indicate when a garment will NOT fit. When looking over a site offering jackets for sale (e.g. Aero's sample/used jacket site), and knowing which styles I am interested in and that do fit me...
I have 2 Size 40 Highwayman jackets (FQHH) and neither of them have a 20" Pit to pit. Both of them are 24" Pit to pit.
I also have a size 38 medium steerhide, Pit to pit is 23 1/2".
I measured by laying the jacket flat, and flatening the side(underarm) panels so they are perfectly flat...
Have you obtained any measurements on this jacket? (I realize it is a stated 40 size)
Perhaps you could also post the link to the pictures of the jacket.
"The City" is short for The City by the Bay, which is San Francisco. Not to say it can't mean another city.
Also, this song refers to San Francisco

If you google "The City", this article in wikipedia pops up...
