Anyone hear of Res Hats? I saw an add in a magazine and checked out the site. Its hard to tell if this is a really cool hat company or a big rip off any one here have any dealing with the company or the products?
I have an old hat that has to have shrunk from its original size, but the problem is that it barley fits and sometimes gives me a headache. I have no hat shop near by that can help, so what would the best way to stretch the hat be? Both hat and hatband? It doesn't need to stretch much but I do...
I do what I normally do, I don't use anything in my hair, I comb it to my right then shove my hat on top. When I take my hat off I just run my hand threw it and I'm good to go. I do the same if I have grease in my hair.
I generally wear a ball cap when I take out the dune buggy, or when I'm working on messy stuff, like making stone guitar picks or jewelry. On very rare other occasions I will wear a ball cap, but usually its my old fedora or a beat up old cowboy hat.
I've always liked them, its just recently I found any I liked to wear often. My interest in dress hats always goes back to Dick Tracy and the detective stories by Dashile Hammett.
This is my new hat. I gotta see if my wife can take some better pictures tonight!
So far I'm loving this hat, but I think it needs to be stretched a bit.
You won't find many in favor of wool fedora's on here, mostly because of problems like you ate mentioning, among others. I to was given a wool fedora about 10 years ago, it was a very nice brown color, but after a very little wearing and light weather, it is an unattractive greenish color, the...
Most the places I play don't really have that No-Hat feel to them. Very rough, country folks for the most part. I also play for church, but I would never wear a hat there, unless I was involved with a play or the like.
I find a hat is very useful on stage for me.
For those of you who wear hats and play in bands... Do you have a go to hat for shows, that differs than one you would normally go for?
I've found my fedora's are more practical for live show, over say a western hat. So I have my go to hat when my band has a gig, but its not the one I would...
I think what should happen then, is that the Fedora Lounge starts a hat shop, where hats are made and sold, there are enough talented folks here, from a wide, variety of fields to make it work well. The main problem there would be location, but its a nice fantasy. I'd love to see our community...
Which ever you like, I think my homburg spends equal time on my along with my fedora. I don't often dress too formally, but I still love my homburg.
So go to a hat shop and try out the look of each and get which ever looks best to you.
