I'll toss my hat (and pen!) into the ring, as well.
I'm a recent Cal Poly graduate and a part-time illustrator. I like comics, machinery of all types, and history (naturally). I could-- and have --spend all day at the Natural History Museum or the Autry, and can be long-winded on topics that...
I've got two of the same make -- ad knives by Colonial. One, the lower knife, belonged to my great grandfather, and noted his membership in the Crosby Farmer's Association. The other I bought from a local antique store to use in place of the first, as I didn't want it to get damaged during...
I will admit to refusing to buy certain products that weren't made in the US. This has nothing to do with xenophobic, isolationist tendencies, but that the majority of products I've made this decision about had been made in China, where a fair wage is not guaranteed and sweatshop labor is still...

Ciff: (in his flight helmet) How do I look?
Peevy: Like a hood ornament!
Hello, all!
I'm owlbeen, or kiff, and I'm from California's Central Coast. I'm a semi-newb, in that I've had an account here for years and have lurked, but haven't actively posted until now. Whoops! Time to remedy that!
I've got an interest in all old things, especially machines and...
I've got two going, currently.
Truman, by David McCullough, and Meadowsweet, by Baroness Orczy. You can probably guess which one is currently full of sand from being carted to and from the beach, like any proper dimestore novel.
Guess I'll join the party.
This is my 1968 Karmann Ghia. She's old, cantankerous, and has been hit so many times that she leans permanently to one side. I love her, anyway.
12 years and far too many miles to count, and she still runs like new.
