Thanks, I looked at them, they are different. I'm only missing a couple, got lost in the moves.
Peacoat, not exactly, I'm going to guess between 86 and 89, since I remember I was married, my wife sewed them on for me. And I wasn't married until 86 and got out of the Navy in 92.
Speaking of Pea Coats, I have my original one that I was issued in 1983. Part way through my enlistment, they made us take the silver buttons off and put plastic black buttons. I'd like to switch it back, but have been unable to find the original buttons. Anyone know where I can look...
Thanks, that helps, that is why all my recently aquired fedora are like that, I assumed they needed reshaped, having only had experience with western hats.
photobyalan hit the size, I think. I wear a 6 7/8 pretty good. This hat is a little too large, but I think I can live with it. Once it's cleaned and blocked, we'll see.
Received it today. What a beautiful hat. I love the light weight felt on it. It is a little large. But not too bad, does need reblocked and the brim shaped better. I'm thinking I might send it off to have it profesionally done.
Converting a western into a fedora? Tell more. I have a nice Stetson western hat I don't wear anymore, brims too big. Was thinking of ebaying it, but maybe a conversion is in order?
Well, it was meant to be funny. A joke.
I've been shaving for over a year, no, I'm not going bald, just always kept it short, and it's easier to keep it shaved then get a haircut. Besides, never liked my hair anyways.
Do like I do, shave your head. :D
No helmet head after riding my bike, no hat head after wearing a hat. And gives me an excuse to wear hats, keeps my head warm.
6 1/2 is too small for me, but if you look at the questions, several folks asked what the inner measurement was, 21.5" which should fit perfectly. We'll find out soon.
Being a newbie in qaulity hats, I worry about it, especially when the wife thinks I'm nuts anyway. But I loved the look of this hat.

I might. Their not top qaulity, just some I picked up off of ebay for cheap. One I really like the looks of, but a tad too small, was going to try to stretch it.
Sanford, near Raleigh.
Ok, I've searched, and I've found bits of information all over. Is there step by step instructions for blocking and shaping and cleaning a hat?
Thanks
