From the now defunct mid-tier British made Lewis copycats Leather Monkeys, this is a pedestrian but fairly well executed Lightning knockoff in mid-weight exceptionally grainy cowhide. This has seen some use—minor pinholes in the lapel, some minor road rash and missing stitching on the cuff and a...
A mid-80s Schott Perfecto 115 in naked cowhide. Much rarer than the 125 as these were only made in 83 and 84. This is in well-worn condition, grainy and slouchy. If you want something in excellent condition I also have a 125 for sale!

This was sold to me (new) as a Lewis Leathers Lightning, though it is not badged. The place I bought it had a small rail of LL and James Grose samples, all 36 or 38, some with brand labels and some without—the shop owner says they were bought directly from the LL/JG pattern cutters who ran out...
A 1985-1990 Schott Perfecto 125 in naked cowhide. This is in great condition, with the original tag still present (but not, of course, the zip-out fleece liner!). The guy who sold it said his dad bought it and never took it out of the closet. I’ve worn it about 3-5 times. If you want something a...
Thought I’d give a used no-name shearling a try to see if I like the style but despite S tag size it’s way too big for me.
It’s similar in style to Schott’s B3 type, not a historically accurate B3.
No discernible must, smoke or pet smells. A couple of small paint(?) marks which I have...
I can’t really justify having two identical Als as I’m a wearer not a collector! So am selling the heavier of the two that has worn lining. This has the cushiest leather I’ve ever seen on one of these—heavy but supple naked cowhide with beautiful graining that is really starting to pop. The...
SOLD on EBay
Been wanting a proper Cal forever and this is almost perfect but it’s just a bit bigger than I think works for me. It was sold as 38/40 but is labelled a 42R in the pocket (if I can make out the faded writing correctly).

This is a great 618 in heavy steerhide—weighs almost twice what my late 70s 618 did. Its had the epaulets and belt removed which will immediately disqualify it from consideration for many of you! It’s clearly been well-used—there is some fading and scuffing to the leather and a small friction or...
This is probably the nicest, heaviest hide I will ever encounter on a CHP but I now have a better fitting Als *and* Cal so I should probably try and offset some outgoings. Would also probably trade for a CHP in 36-38, I fear!

A minimalist double rider custom made by Fivestar Leather, who specialise in vintage and military reproductions.
This is made of decent weight goat hide. Leather is in great condition but it’s missing the male snap on the coin pocket. It’s a bit wrinkly from storage in these photos!

A 1983 Schott Perfecto 125 in naked cowhide. The hide on this is noticeably different to my late 80s 125. It has a soft, waxy hand with a brown undertone rather than the usual grey.
This has some age appropriate scuffing to the leather and the leather has worn at the fold on the sleeve gussets...
This is a 70s Golden Bear CHP with lovely brass talon zippers rebadged and sold by the colourfully named Male Hide Leathers Chicago. A very triangular cut 38 (do check the hem measurement which is slim!).
There is some scuffing of the top layer of leather on the collar and wrists, all...
Catch and release because I refuse to learn that I don’t like mandarin collars once they’re on me. Maybe I have a long neck?
A good weight hide on this jacket (heavier than all my Schotts at around 5lbs), which is cut for a more athletic 36 than me (bigger shoulders, smaller tummy). An early...
Having found my forever 125 it’s time to thin the Schott/beck herd. This is a great 618 with advantages of both the 70s (no footballs, unbranded snaps) and 80s (no pleather), though it runs smaller than my 90s version. Some slight fading and the ghost of a Harley tramp stamp!
£195 plus shipping...
Might be a non starter for the forum given the size but before I try eBay! Note it is very long for a 34. £250 plus shipping.

Hem 44/17.25
Length 63/25

Sleeves 59/23.25
I had fun cleaning this up a bit but the cut is too vintage (short) for me. Male zipper pin missing and two small holes, repairs to one of the belt loops which has been patched from underneath with leather and leather cement (pictures attached), priced accordingly.

When I saw this CHP from Male Hide Leathers Chicago on Depop I was pretty certain from the coin pocket that it was a rebadged Golden Bear. After all, it seems fairly well documented that Als and other makers have been rebadged for various SF special interest retailers, so why not one in Chicago...
James Grose Manila, which is like a Cyclone with Lightning pockets. Made in England for the Japanese market, it's cut accordingly, out of a midweight tumbled horsehide that is remarkably soft and supple--definite luxe rather than armour vibes.
It’s barely worn, however, there is a small repair...
In a cross-zip phase so this is up for grabs. It’s from Shanghai manufacturer Simons, who are a tier above Curphey and comparable with the better stuff from Cidu. Described as black tea-core horsehide but I would say the brown undertone is very present. High armholes and slim sleeves on this, I...
A periodic shout into the void, just in case!
As always, hunting for a Cal/Al/Langlitz/random-SF-fetish-brand CHP X-zip, preferably unpadded, in my size (19.5-21in chest).
