    Post New Hats Here!

So guess what came in the mail today? And after opening the box I found this: And here is your humble scribe with his brand spankin' new Penman LC hat: My grandfather used to say he was "really tickled" whenever something pleased him. I never understood what that meant until today, when...

Would "Raiders" have been as popular if the character had been hatless?

Very true, it's a timeless look that's stood the test of time.

What's something modern you won't miss when it becomes obsolete?

Speaking of wretched excess, there's an opinion piece in the WSJ today that talks about the theme of this thread "Scuzz World": http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304428004579355333175445194?mod=hp_opinion

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

I do think that the Lounge gives people the chance to discuss ideas, themes, and culture that other sites just don't. Facebook usually just skates along the surface.

What's something modern you won't miss when it becomes obsolete?

Another thing I won't miss (but honestly, I don't think this one will ever go away) is self-important business lingo that this comic demonstrates: http://professionalsuperhero.com

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

I can understand excessive posting, but what do you call the creepy friend counters on Facebook who only seem to want thousands of "friends"?

What's something modern you won't miss when it becomes obsolete?

Funny, but when the baggy pants look first became popular I thought it would last a year or two then fade away. But it's been what, 10-15 years at least? Longer? P.S. Great graphic Stray Cat!

What's something modern you won't miss when it becomes obsolete?

Maybe someone already posted about this, but speaking for myself I won't miss baggy jeans where the waist sits below the butt and men need to waddle as they walk to keep up the pants. Just sayin'

    Post New Hats Here!

Looks like a great copy of the hat worn by John Smith in Last Man Standing!

Aftershave : That nostalgic true masculine smell!

One nice thing about Acqua Di Parma is that it's only carried in select stores (you won't find it in Macy's), so you won't smell your cologne on other people. I have yet to meet anyone else that wears it. Also, the alcohol content is fairly low, so people won't smell you coming a mile away....

    Your favorite movie quotes

From Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis: Flynn: "I guess you're just going to have to kill me." Smith: "It'll hurt if I do..."

What was the last TV show you watched?

+1 for Sherlock. The second episode of this current 3rd season was certainly a departure from the usual. The third and last episode of the season this weekend looks to get back on track to a more serious tone.

Speaking of flux capacitors I went out for my birthday the other night, and watched as a fully decked out DeLorean drove by the restaurant, complete with glowing flux capacitor, etc. Fun!

    MOB CITY / L A Noir [TNT]

Just caught the first episode last night. I enjoyed it, but agree that it has a long way to go before I think I'd be hooked on it the way I was with The Walking Dead. Time will tell....
