What was the last TV show you watched?

I didn't finish watching it yet. It was on rather late. However, I taped it. I plan to watch it today or another day. From the segments I saw of part 1 (there are 3 parts), it was rather interesting.

Either Hoop-Dee-Doo or The Happy Wanderer by Frankie Yankovic.

What modern invention/innovation do you wish had *never* been developed?

Cell phones are very annoying. I find it ridiculous when you see several people strolling down the street, in one group, all using their "smart" phones, not talking to on another. They also do it in restaurants.

What modern invention/innovation do you wish had *never* been developed?

The high horsepower on many cars is ridiculous. Why do you need 300 horsepower in a car which is lighter than a car from 50 years ago which had less horsepower? Clearly they could go the speed limit back then, so why make most cars be able to go faster than the speed limit? Cars would get better...

    Early Birds

Since we have a Night Owl thread, I figured I would create an Early Bird thread. I personally dislike the night, and I always go to bed at 9-10pm. I can't keep my eyes open past 9:30pm. I always wake up at 6:00am.

    Show us your TIES

A thing about new ties. They all seem ridiculously long. Even with modern pants. They always go several inches past the waistband with the schoolboy knot. I do not have any vintage ties, and don't wear modern style pants or ties anymore, but my homemade ties (which are 50-54 inches long) only go...

Not to mention that modern ties have very odd colors. What are you supposed to wear this hideous tie with?

What was the last TV show you watched?

I saw a show on PBS last night about Edward VIII's Nazi connections. I forgot what it was called, but it was a good show. It was rather interesting.

I found this Swank tie bar at a church flea market on Cape Cod. Does anyone have an idea when it's from?

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

I made two new neckties. The first one I painted by hand. The second one I made from fabric bought at a Ben Franklin on Cape Cod.

    What are you wearing today??

I wore my new old Swank slide on tie bar today. I also decided to take a picture of myself wearing my other new old Flex-Let Quality tie bar. The Swank one is the one without the glass/stone in the center.

    Tie clip / tie bar

My family went to the cape again to visit relatives last week, and while I was up there, I got these two vintage tie clips. The one on the top is made by Flex-Let Quality (or at least that's what it says on the back), and I got it at an antique store. The owner said that it was probably from the...

Amusing quotes from people mis-dating you

The other day, I went to a church flea market and bought a vintage tie clip made by Swank. The seller first said that I looked like an actor from the 30's or 40's. After thinking for a bit, she said I looked like Hercule Poirot! I thanked her anyway, despite my outfit not resembling Poirot very...
