Does anyone know what they used to paint hand-painted ties back then?

That last one with the fisherman looks like it was hand-painted with a brush. I thought that they only hand-painted ties with airbrushes?

I wonder why they stopped putting them on cars. Perhaps they removed them because of visibility issues, like Gregg said. Interestingly, they still put them on large trucks, and sometimes on pickup trucks.

I find those exterior sunvisors curious. Was there any specific reason they added them? Didn't they have interior visors since the early 30's?

What are those external visors called on some late 40's and early 50's cars? Like the one on this car.

What modern invention/innovation do you wish had *never* been developed?

I even noticed that they play different music when there is a thunderstorm warning/watch. They used to have lots more music they played. Now they only play two songs. The good weather song, and the bad weather song. Both are annoying songs, but before they changed, they played annoying music too.

What modern invention/innovation do you wish had *never* been developed?

Sensational and biased news stations (such as MSNBC and Fox). How is news news if you have a guy freaking out and talking with his hands, with music in the background? The Weather channel is also victim to dramatization, even more so now than ever, since they added music in every possible place.

What was the last TV show you watched?

PBS news hour. The only non-biased and non-sensational news on TV. No stupid music in the background, no talking with their hands, no dramatization. Just news, the way news should always be.

I have a bank account, but I don't control it. My cheapskate of a father has control of it. I used to have my own account, but I had to withdraw all the money to buy a computer. I don't know if there is even money in there anymore, since I have to pay for car insurance, despite not owning a car...

I can't buy anything online. You need a credit card to my knowledge. I don't have a job yet, but I am searching. This money I have is saved up from gifts from relatives. One reason I show Amazon links a lot is because you can convert cash into Amazon money via gift cards.

Is that suit you are wearing Paul Fredrick? I seem to remember seeing a similar suit on their website.

I guess Shuron is a better way to go then. It seems pretty useful to get several pairs to try on. I often have a problem with glasses being too small, since I have a wide face. I would assume that I would need a 48 or 50. Note that I wouldn't be getting them very soon, since my mother said that...

    Vintage Eyeglasses

I found another place that sells them. I didn't go there, but has anyone ever heard of, or ordered from, Frames Direct? It seems they were featured in the New York Times. That should be enough to convince my mother that they are legitimate.

I have another question. Did they make the tortoiseshell ones in the 40's? Are these ones on Amazon real? Can they be turned into prescription lenses despite saying reading glasses? I could be mistaken, but I thought I read the vintage ones can't have the nose pads replaced. I could try...

Does anyone know where to get Shuron Ronsirs? Do they support prescriptions? The place where I get glasses probably does not carry Shuron.

    What are you wearing today??

I'm wearing my new homemade necktie today.

It's done! Here I am wearing my new homemade necktie. It's a bit stiff, but that's mostly the front, and that doesn't really matter. Which is better, the schoolboy knot, or the half-windsor? The first picture I did the schoolboy. The second, the half-windsor. Personally, I think the half-windsor...

    Reactions from people...

Yesterday, I went to the supermarket. A worker there came to me, and said "I always love those ties and hats you are wear". The funny thing is, I usually only wear the same tie, and hat there. On another occasion, I went to a drugstore. A worker there complemented me, but they continued. They...

    What are you wearing today??

Actually, this might sound crazy, but if the masses leave their house with nothing else but underwear, wouldn't that mean that there would be a larger variety of clothing? Since the masses would all be wearing underwear, then they would have no say in what clothes look like, and thus, clothes...
