Christoph Hack from Köln (Cologne) makes some decent (and expensive) horsehide jackets. All with fine details, accurate top stitching and superb Swiss RiRi zips

Langlitz, Aero, Goodwear and LostWorlds are known for their customizations (the first three companies being very easy to deal with). Although customization might only apply to civilian/motorcycle models. A2s are generally left untouched or they won't be called A2 anymore...
Eastmans are great...
The top brands there are (in no specific order).

Edit: forgot our resident Mark Fisher "Fishmeok". He makes great stuff too
The "Ace" is build on the slim fitting "Halfbelt" pattern whereas the "Rocker" is basically a motorcycle version of the Highwayman which is boxier, roomier and slightly shorter.
The Highwayman tapers all the way down to hem. The Halfbelt is slightly waisted and generally closer fitting.
The G&B horsehide almost looks like plastic to me. The spray finish on top is very thick and even if it wears away over time the skin underneath will have the same colour. A vintage patina is very unlikely with their chrome tanned drum dyed and spray finished horse.
Aero Cafe Racer in mid weight jerky seal horsehide with A2 style leather collar instead of mandarin collar is probably what you are looking for. It's a slim fitting pattern which can be very simple yet elegant and stylish depending on the details and type of leather you specify..
No pockets, two...
Looks like a cheap calfskin shoe with glued-on sole. Not worth more than 100 Dollars I would say. For that amount of money you should get something more classic, more decent with a welted sole. Check out LeatherSoul Hawaii, or have a look at the Red Wing, Viberg, Wesco or White's range.
Aero only rarely supply jackets directly to film companies. Many Aeros you have seen on screen were purchased anonymously by "private" customers.
Official endorsement doesn't pay off for them as there are no flashy labels on the jackets...
I bet Captain America will be shit even if the setting...

Agreed!
The jacket looks so flimsy because it's completely delined. The leather isn't thin at all just wrecked! The ball and chain breast pocket zip is identical to the vintage brass zipper on one of my jackets and the way the top stitchings been made and how the pocket's been set in looks very...
Great jacket! The leather looks fantastic and has a nice solid brown colour. I like the pockets very much! Say where did you get that idea from?
Too bad that the coat will spend the next couple of months in your wardrobe.
Bonsoir! C'est une Halfbelt tres formidable! J'aime la coup de la veste et la coleur est tres intense. C'est un bon choix!
Great choice of leather and lining. I like it a lot. The 30s HB is so simple yet classy and stylish. I know that it will be quite warm but hot summer days are ideal for...
Although it looks and feels good it is not the most durable option there is. Rayon is authentic, I know, but it tends to fray rather quickly in the neck area, especially where the inside leather facing meets the lining halfway between neck and top of your shoulder. Heavy duty dacron (nylon)...
Go for the M422a,
a much more lavish and better fitting (although the 38-1711 IS nice) jacket which offers tremendous comfort due to under arm gussets and bi-swing back.
A couple of things to alter on your future M422a:
- Change the deadstock single weave waistband for an A2 type double weave...
Any natural oil or fat applied to leather will eventually become rancid i. e. it oxidizes. Some oils hold up better (mink oil) some not (linseed oil). This does also apply to most mineral oil based products. Given time they will severly affect the molecular fibre structure of the skin. This...
Wow, Andrew, that's an amazing jacket in unbelievable condition! It really fits you well and although it might be generously cut it still looks crisp and sharp without any excessive material in the back.
The leather, lining, and the collar stand lining - everything looks as if the jacket was...
