I did a pic comparison. The Mobster is just missing the badge holder.

Yes, the Mobster is a straight up copy of an early version Californian. You are right that one can find quite a few of the similar later versions most likely with side laces but not necessarily the early one. The Muholland is more a tweaked versions of the CHPs and Higwayman
I am not sure if...
Thank you. I know a few Japanese workshops that do repair. Re-Sew at Schott Grand store for one but I don't think I would bother. There are cracks all along the shoulder and collar.
The HH on the Sugar Cane feels very similar to my the Few badalassi. I am very happy with it since it fits...
These 3 arrived. 2 out of 3 and aint bad. The left one has a big hole in the shoulder but not gonna seek to return it. Going to wear it until it disintegrate.
Also came in is a wool Jelado Hercules repro. Am happy that all 4 fit pretty well.
Cannot find much info about Leather Garment Co Inc out of San Francisco on the internet. Got this HB.

I still have the leather perfecto vest from DKNY's first season of menswear. Bought it back in the early 90s as said the first season they lauched the men's collection. It was made in USA. The same model in distressed leather in second season was already made in China.
I have always suspected what RM did with the J-24 later version is to copy the contemporary Lewis Leather Lightning cut that became popular around that time in the fashion world.
I just measured my LL Europa (regular not T cut) and it has barely a 2-inch drop (ptp 19, waist 17) chest to waist...
Do they even make light weight selvedge denim for shirt? Lightest I know are 8-9oz. There are plenty of non-western denim shirt but most selvedge denim shirt are too thick to tuck in...
It is a civilian jacket. Usually only worth dating if it is military issued. I think all the civilian Alpha MA-1 has the same stock and contract number so cannot use that to date.
Nice looking boots. I would categorise these as semi-dress though. I remember when I was living in the UK, I had trouble finding OK quality sleek cowboy and harness boots. I had a couple of buckle boots and managed to find a pair of Mexican made harness by a company called Adams I think. I...
The front looks pretty classic Cal leather but the back darts look homemade.
Custom? Who would choose darts like these over the six panels? Not that darts are bad but these are horrible.
I would not be surprised when there is a higher demand than supply. I have heard talk about shell cordovan from the famous tannery that you either get whatever colour they give you or you have to reach a certain volume i.e. you get a small batch of the colour you want when you buy a bunch of...
My RM J100 is still my favourite. I have since bought an original J100, a HD Sportster, a Beck 666. The narrower sleeves of the RM still makes it my favourite. I have put on some weight and RM j24 and FW San Mateo sadly don't fit anymore.
