Here are some quick photos of my Rands...turns out I forgot about one, the Swarovsky...which makes for six:
Here's an old 8X Drover. This is a fantastic hat, thick felt, and will take a beating. It just keeps getting better. Approx 25 yrs old.
This one is a 10X Rocking Bar...I love this hat...
It's nice to see an 11 year old thread on such a great topic come back to life!
Rand makes some darned good hats. I have several, ranging from 7X to 10X.
Today's offerings from Rand are usually either 8x or 10X - 8 being 80% beaver and 10 being 100% beaver. But you can also go 'sky's the...
spatula !
seriously though...I have an old screwdriver that I heated with a propane torch and bent the tip, about an inch up, into an L shape. I use it just for oddball challenges like the one you have. That 'tool' has come in handy many times over the years.

I've been in a 'hat phase' for the past 60 years and no one has ever told me I'm wearing one wrong or right. Although I have received compliments on my hats..."Great hat"...etc. I wear what feels good for the day and whether or not it...
Felts: I have one that is my 'go to' hat. and another dozen to allow for clothing differences, outside work, and seasonal options. they all stay in hat boxes when not on my head.
Straws: again, one 'go to' hat and another half dozed, mostly for outside work options.

And I get routine compliments on my natural Open Road RD. It's just a great...

I have both the 6x (Black) & Royal Deluxe (Natural).
