Hat Storage
For the ones that don't have their original boxes, I store mine in hat boxes that I got from Hatco, the Stetson/Resistol factory outlet store. Typical current day Stetson boxes. -

New to wearing hats question
I've never used anything as a protective device for my hats. If it needs cleaning to remove a small smudge I just use water...some mild soap if necessary. I got an oil stain on one of my silverbelly hats once...blackish, used oil...and removed it with shampoo and hot water. But as for an... -

How many hats is enough?
Felts: I have one that is my 'go to' hat. and another dozen to allow for clothing differences, outside work, and seasonal options. they all stay in hat boxes when not on my head. Straws: again, one 'go to' hat and another half dozed, mostly for outside work options. -
How do folks react to your hat wearing?
