The general decline in standards today

It probably greatly depends on the dosage. Lortab 5 does nothing for me. They don't even really seem to dull the pain. But Lortab 10 works very well, while giving me just a touch of that "warm, fuzzy" feeling. Don't know what it would do in larger doses as, like I said, I don't abuse them. Ever...

    No love from MTV

I never liked their snooty attitude when it came to most of the bands I liked in the '70s. CREEM, Circus, and Rock Scene were much more my speed.

How would you earn a living?

Except that it has gotten much more militarized, in both style and tactics. Most people had never even heard of S.W.A.T before that TV series aired in the 1970's. Today even smaller towns have some type of SWAT unit.

How would you earn a living?

A job in a tattoo shop would have been much easier to land back then, although it's debatable whether it would be a more lucrative profession then or now. Today there's much more competition in the field, but there are also a lot more people getting tattooed, and paying much higher prices...

What coffee or tea did you drink today?

The in-laws gave us their old Keurig single-cup coffee system when they upgraded to a new one a few months back. We've been having fun experimenting with all the different flavors available. Haven't settled on a favorite yet, but I tend to prefer darker blends, the stronger the better. Any...

The general decline in standards today

The flip side of this is that a lot of doctors are reluctant to prescribe pain medication, even when it's clear that the patient has a legitimate medical need for it. In my case, I have a very bad foot (collapsed arch and bone misalignment) stemming from a mis-diagnosed fracture that occurred a...

HULK HOGAN's New Restaurant Dress Code.

Yes, and in the case of the former, it's probably their prices that keep the "wrong sort of people" out.

    Favorite Halloween movies

Thanks for sharing. This looks quite interesting. It led me to want to check out filmmaker Kevin McTurk's earlier short The Narrative of Victor Karloch too.

What modern invention/innovation do you wish had *never* been developed?

You keep it in your boot if you have to have it on you. Those suits do not come with pockets! One additional note on the suit: It's the only true professionally bespoke suit I've ever owned, made by a company off the original patterns (altered to my own measurements, of course) purchased from...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm still unclear on just what selvage jeans are and how they differ from good old classic Levis Red Tab or Wranglers.

    What's for Dinner?

Great minds. In my case the "barbecue" was Ball Park's Finest Smokehouse Barbecue Seasoned franks, with Bunyan's (a local brand) hot slaw. To me the barbecue is by far the best flavor in the Park's Finest line. I go through a couple packages of them every week.

    No love from MTV

MTV was much better when they just showed music videos 24 hours a day. I notice in the article they don't even show a proper fedora, but a cheap plastic trilby. Obviously written by someone more concerned with fashion rather than style.

    Favorite Halloween movies

I'll reiterate my post from 2011 because it still applies: TRICK 'R TREAT has a great early Spielberg feel to it, and Hammer Horror is still my fave for atmosphere. The only thing I'd add is Rob Zombie's HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, which I see as the ultimate horror fan movie made by the ultimate...

What modern invention/innovation do you wish had *never* been developed?

You mean like this one? Yes, this is yours truly in a Vegas-era besequined gaberdine jumpsuit. I used to occasionally perform as an Elvis Presley tribute artist.

The general decline in standards today

Although some will argue to the contrary, I've always heard the trend came from the U.S. Prison system as a secret way for some prisoners to let the others know that part of their anatomy was "available" for certain considerations. Why self-styled street toughs on the outside would want to...

HULK HOGAN's New Restaurant Dress Code.

As a business owner dealing directly with the public for over 14 years, I can think of many I wish I could have turned away. Some types you just don't want to deal with - based on attitude of course, not race or ethnicity. My business was tattooing. I can say the bar business is no different...
