Tried a bunch of photos and all look washed out. I have a matching display box, oak with etched glass lid for it also.
I suppose that I was assuming that everyone knew about Rugers Tropical series. It used to be only .375 H&H, .416 Rigby and then 458 Win Mag. Then they started adding different calibers. I think but am not sure that the "Boddington in 300 H&H is one of these also, maybe Renault can qualify this.
About 20 years ago before I really started wearing hats regularly, my brother in law shows up with what had been a fairly nice black western Stedson. Dirty is putting it mildly.
I have a big Miluwakee wet/dry vaccum so I put a brush on it and proceded to clean his hat. It sucked stuff out...
I have a #1 in .375 H&H as well as one in a CZ550 Safari. The CZ is much more plesant to shoot than the #1,
What I would like to find is a #1 in 30-06 configured like the tropicals, moderately heavy barrel, Alex Henry forearm and iron sights.
I posted this over on the display case by mistake.
I was wanting a peep for my Ruger #1 and found this over on the 24hourcampfire.com forum, so please do not credit me with the idea. The picture is from there and I only wish that rifle were mine.
The sight is made from cutting down and...

Here is a picture of a detachable receiver sight I made for my Ruger #1. That's not my gun but the picture posted by the guy over on 24 hourcampfire.com, single shots, forum where I got the idea.
It starts with a Burris Ruger to Weaver adapter, and a XS low Weaver back up sight...

a nice grey fedora with wind trolley and welted brim but it is very soft. I may try some of the stiffner to help the crown hold the...
My Dad had one of those, plus one with a 4" barrel. I could shoot that stubbie and really liked it. I asked him if he ever wanted to get rid of it to let me buy it but he forgot and sold the stubbie to a business acquaintence who wanted a gun. I still have the 4" model as a house gun...
Neat, I can remember doctors offices looking like that.
As for the mecury blood pressure instrument, blood pressure is measured in mm of Hg so it is never out of calibration as the weight of the Hg is the calibration.
Dad was in the office equipment business and I can remember selling and...
I have one of the earlier ultra carry models. It's the plain one, alloy frame for weight reduction, all black, no dehorning ect.
One thing about it though, it's a shooter. I can hit with it almost as well as with my Colt Gold Cup, or the Kimber match model I have, cannot remember the...
Rebuilding is not always available. I had a pair that still looked good but the inside lining was falling to pieces. The could or would not work on them. I still think they are one of the best shoes available.
Good luck on the hunting today. Up here in Jacksonville it's cold and raining.
I have gotten to the point where I no longer hunt, a lease around here is just too expensive, so I just keep a membership in the East Texas rifle and pistol club over near Longview so I can shoot. It's about 50...
Thats great, I have two that have special meaning.
Dad bought a Marlin 39a for me when I was 7 or 8 years old, should have been about 1952, I could look up date codes on gun but have not. The other is a Winchester mod 70 featherweight in 30-06 he got from prize points in a sales contest. I...
