I have a few that would fit this category. My favorite is a Husqvarna 46 in 9.3x57 ok for med to larger game at close to moderate ranges. It is a 1929 vintage rifle in the classic English or European styling and fits me like a glove. It sports a 26"barrel with a single leaf express type...
Similar experiences from another Texan. I have been wearing hats daily for about 6-7 years now and it seems as though folks that know me, expect to see me wearing one. It's usually a fedora, center dent or c crown, with an occasional Open Road thrown in. On rare occasions I will break out...
I wear a 12 a or b width, got mine in 12 b and they seem fine to me as far as size. I also got a pair of the Longbranch model, same styling, but vibragm sole and 3 speed lace hooks at top of boot. Both are extremely comfortable.
I get mine in bulkl from Ted Pella, http://www.tedpella.com/dissect_html/dissect.htm#anchor1623602
If you go to the home page vs this link, you will find them under tools then blades.
I get the Gem coated stainless blades, each blade has a cardboard wrapper around the edge and are bulk...
Bring it on, we have been having mid 90's F weather here and no rain for the last couple of months. A cold front moved through and we are getting much welcomedlight rain this morning and temp is about 75 and is only predicted to hit about 80 today. Not yet sweater weather, but I will be glad...
At my son's wedding I wore a black tux with my black alligator western boots. Not the real pointy toe kind but a more slender rounded toe. They looked good, and at least I was comfortable as they were custom made and I wear a 12 a sometimes b width shoe, so I could not see standing up in shoes...
Well we have had a mild summer here in E. Texas, the green part. I do not think we hit 100F this summer, the last two weeks have been delightful for this part of the country, low to mid 90's.
All that said, I am ready for fall, and I fit into the crowd that would like two weeks of summer...
Straw, Panama, Milan or paper. I have one Panama that has an open weave band that is the best, and it's the coolest. After it for coolness some of the western's (Resistol is what I have) with the little vent grommets. My totally close weave Panama's and the Stetson Panama straw Open Roads...
The one at Drysdales is what I was talking about. Apparently all they have is three sizes, but not what I need.
I'll give Paris hatters a call later and see what they have.
Now that I want one I cannot find it. A ventilated straw Open Road. I spent about a hour looking this morning trying to find one in a 7 1/4. Does anyone know of a vendor that has them? I remember seeing them advertised last year, but no more.
What you did sounds good to me. That's basically what I do to mine. I have a pair of Vasque rock climbing boots that I purchased in early 1973 for hunting in the mountains over in Turkey and they are still as good as new as are several pair of combat boots from the same era.
I just looked at davidmorgan.com at the Banjo Patterson, $175 there. You might consider the Angler, for $160, probably a little brim difference, and a leather hatband vs the nicer looking fishskin band on the Banjo Patterson.
While not knit, I have been wearing these vests from Filson for several years now
http://www.filson.com/products/mackinaw-wool-vest.10055.html?fromCat=true&fvalsProduct=mens/vests-liners&fmetaProduct=1011
They are a dense woven wool, and in cold weather very warm, but when it warms up...
I received mine today, after ordering the first week of March. According to e mails they ran out of the gray leather and had to reorder at which point it was backordered.
They are looking good with black slacks right now, and should be good with navy, and possibly gray so I will leave them...
From my limited experience, you might consider buying from a local store. I live in the deep south, ie E. Texas, much like N. Louisiana where I was born and raised. I found heavier weight clothing up in N Carolina and Tennesse than you generally find down here, and would suspect the same would...
