More than 8 on such a heavy hide like horsehide is excellent. E.g. Brunello cucinelli has about 9 but they use very thin leather. Aero about 7 and goodwear 8.
Impressive jacket. I think that this Badalassi leather color is quite something, I actually find it (looks like Burgundy to me) more interesting than Shinki. With respect of the fit, I think (my bias) that the jacket is a bit long for you even though the pants are high waisted. But if you feel...
The fit looks great to me in the chest, shoulders, and the length. The sleeves may be a bit short, an inch or so. That said I have seen others wearing jackets with that sleeve length. As I'm also looking at RMC buco j-100, I'm curious about your height? I'm six foot and hence looking at the size 42.
I have actually challenged her husband to a leather jacket duel to defend honor of the over 50 members (I’m 60) of fedoralounge and provided the link to this discussion thread. It will be an easy win once I get my leather jacket from Goodwear.
How would you compare Y'2 leather jacket overall quality things like stitch count and evenness, overall construction, leather, and fit vs aero or RMC? I'm interested myself in the SR-64.
For sure try one size down. It is a personal choice; but, I think the sleeves are at least 1" too long and jacket length as well. As you are fairly thin you may want to try trimer clothing that will complement your physique better.
I'm commenting on this older thread so that others can benefit from our discussion/findings. I'm curious myself what the differences are as well. After doing some research, I uncovered that this model, j-57, is not discontinued at least not in fabric and is still in the fairly current catalog...
Sleeves look perfect. I think a shrunken jacket look is a bit passe. So if you want to be trendy, the body being a bit large is just right. If you want to be a traditionalist and like more fitted body style, then just find a good tailor and have the sides taken in a bit. Otherwise the jacket...
Between the two choices I’d go with the medium brown as it is more interesting color. If your skin is paler white then for sure stay away from blacks as the contrast is not flattering. Burgundy would be a good color as it most likely will work well with your skin tone and wardrobe. Other...
Well it may be too late. But stylistically you may be able to keep the fancy keystone yoke in the back but make it one panel instead of three panels below it. This makes it looking more modern and less fussy but still interesting.
Hi Guys, Thank you all for your help! I actually just finished a long and good call with John. We are working together on resolving this. I'm excited because his jackets are special. John in the last four years had to work through legal and related challenges after his mom passed away. Cleary...
Sorry. I just happened to run into this thread mentioning Goodwear and felt like I had to vent based on my own first hand experience. Goodwear has beautiful design and uses great materials. He is a genius, Michelangelo, of the jacket making and arguable makes the best looking jackets in the...
Goodwear/John has had challenges in the last four years such as fulfilling orders, answering emails, or returning voice messages. I have experienced them myself and I'm working with John on addressing them. Design of his jackets is great though!
