How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Congratulations. I thought Guppy might have been the purchaser. That’s a hell of a jacket and would have been in on the bidding had it fit me. Very much looking forward to seeing some fit pics when it arrives.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

It really doesn’t take much effort to take a quality photo. It’s a given that buyers want to see clear, focused images in good lighting of anything listed on an auction site.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Exactly. It doesn’t take much effort to put the jacket in decent lighting and take focused images.

So which of you fellas was the lucky purchaser of this gem? @Guppy?

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

All one needs to do is look at the seller’s crappy images of cell phone photos to know he isn’t above board. Too lazy to take proper photos = too lazy to provide full disclosure to potential buyers. Bad auction photos really irritate me. In a crowded place like eBay, you’d think sellers would...

It's interesting that you mention that English-made Hercules. I found this listing for a German "Hercules" (same seller) a while back: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-1940s-HERCULES-Aviator-Leather-Flight-Motorcycle-Jacket-Small-Medium/233284430963?hash=item3650d5ec73:g:M5wAAOSwy2tdJqMa As for...

Cuz it’s expensive. The seller took it down and has recently relisted it. Would fit me but I don’t know if side lacing is my style.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Exactly. Or, the seller had the botched alterations done for himself, didn't like the result, and just wants to unload the jacket under the guise of "I thrifted it, looks like it might have been altered, gee I really don't know much about this stuff." I'm calling BS.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Good eye. The bottom button and side adjusters are aligned right at the hem, which makes the jacket look out of proportion. Another thing that caught my attention is the seller's statement that he "thrifted it locally." Someone donated an expensive Thedi to a thrift store? It's possible but...

If you are diligent, you can find nice leather jackets at thrift stores occasionally. Here is a Golden Bear A-2 I found for $10: But it's not just a run-of-the-mill Golden Bear. Don't know who the artist was who wore this jacket at the Presidential Inauguration ceremony. Here's a vintage...
