Just returned from a vacation in northern Michigan. During my trip, I saw this in an antique shop. Presumably goatskin. Electrically heated (although I'm not sure I'd try plugging it in). I never knew such a flight suit existed:

Actually, the description says the lining is synthetic, not mouton. If this jacket is from the 1940s, would the lining have been real mouton? Did synthetic linings come along in the late 1960s?

It sounds like you're saying that you don't see evidence of later stitching for that mouton. Have you ever seen a jacket with mouton over the entire collar and lapels? It makes for an intriguing jacket, although the mouton and lining limits it to seasonal use.
I think it may not be original. The more typical mouton collar is of the snap-on variety that covers the rear collar and top lapels. On the jacket in question, the mouton appears to be permanently sewn to the underside of the collar and both upper and lower lapels. I can't recall seeing that...
