I have no clue. I have only three (3) Akubra hats two Boss and one Territory. The Territory felt is thicker and stiffer. -

I’n not sure what you mean by “loose ends”, can you say that a different way, please? It’s on top of the factory band because I am too timid to try removing the factory band, and sewing the new one onto the hat, and there is no one whom I would trust to do it, that I know personally, so it... -

I am (rather obviously) partial to horsehair hatbands. This is the same hat that the grouchy old fart in my avatar is wearing. -

I’m not sure why this is even a question. I don’t think people will cover their children’s eyes, or shake their fingers, or throw vegetables, if OP appears in public wearing a fedora with western boots. I would be curious to hear of any reaction. It may depend on where this happens.
