Hey all,
I've had this for a while- won it on ebay last year for $65, and I've been wondering about its history. It's a great hat, and the one I usually reach for when I want a hat that's a bit more casual, tough, weatherproof, and all that. Anyone know about what year this hat is?
+1 on Mafia- not only a great video game, but also a great organised crime story in general. Couple caveats- I do remember hearing that the PC version (which I played) is far superior to the PS2 version. There are a couple frustrating parts as well, though there are tricks to get around them...
Some of you may recognise this one- I bought it from Rundquist late last year; it was his Morocco Tan lightweight felt one. At some point he had the crown bashed down lower, so I sent it to Graham to have it restored to its original state. Very pleased with the results.
I'm not sure about other brands, but the finish they put on the Biltmore leaves it like a hardhat. I've worn it during moderately heavy rains in China, and completely soaked it before. It doesn't lose its shape whatsoever. I can wear the thing in a pool and not have to worry.
I got...
It's good stuff. It can just be darn hard to find. I'm lucky that the pub at the local college is run by beer snobs and carries a couple of their brews fairly often.
I normally go for stouts or porters (Stone Smoked Porter and Descutes Black Butte Porter.... mmmmm), but lately I've taken to Russian River's Damnation. In my search for local brews (in So Cal that is), I've found Craftsman Brewing makes some solid stuff too. Come to think of it, their 1903...
I've been eyeing the White's for a while. Anyone here who owns some a So Cal'er? If so, did you find a local place to try a pair, or did you just measure yourself and order them?

Anyone listening to this? For the Apollo 11 anniversary, this site is doing a real time rebroadcast of the original mission. Figured that would be of interest to Loungers.
Moon landing in 93 hours, 20 minutes.
Well here I was, ready to showcase my suit at Matt's YOWZA event this Friday so curious loungers could finally see it, then I realise this morning that it was last Friday. :eusa_doh:
I don't have any action shots, but here's a couple lining shots for the people who have asked:
Thanks guys. :D indycop, the shirt is a Sailor Jerry shirt, called Sailor Jerry Rum Allies. I don't have a photo of it at the moment, but you can kind of see it here.
Hey, it's me in the suit! Hm, wish I had shaved that day. :D
First, I want to say that it was a pleasure dealing with Matt in this whole process. The suit itself is exceptionally built- though 13 oz is a heavier fabric than anything I've had before, you don't really feel it. It's...
Here's a Biltmore Milan I've had for a couple years, which I'm sure is made from the synthetic/fake stuff. I have to say though that it is nigh indestructible. It got soaked in China during monsoon season, and it's no worse for wear!
I caught this over the weekend. Loved it! Highlight text below to read on, some spoilers:
Spoilers on-
One of things I found refreshing was the complete lack of adherence to normal science fiction time travel conventions- characters, even good guys, were meddling with time lines, Old Spock...
