Freshen up an old Bates ...

I've been reading a bit about jacket odor, as I just got two in that are a little stronger smelling than I care for. I've read about baking soda and vinegar, and both seem a bit messy. I was also wondering about using an ozone generator. I have one for the basement. I think I might try that...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Did anyone in the Lounge snatch up this jacket on eBay today? The complete measurements weren't listed, and the chest was just a bit too small for me. Otherwise, I would have been ALL over it.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Every time I see you guys post about the horsehide Seabiscuit jacket, in my head, I hear, in my best Paul Harvey voice, "And now you know the REST of the story. Good day!" For those too young or not in the US: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Harvey

Just when you thought you had seen it all . . . (Warning: Not for the fainthearted)

I saw the email from Schott and wondered when people would start commenting. They're kind of ridiculous.

do you dare to commit to wear a single jacket for a month through all your waking hours?

I'll have to try this with my 613s--When I have three days to dry it out. I've been wearing it around the house, and the sleeves are more comfortable, but it still looks boxy, plasticy and way too new.

Taylor Stitch x Golden Bear Moto Jacket

I think the ones with the quilted lining are the original offering, which were also sized small. The current offering is more true to size with a plain lining. The listing for the large appears to be an original offering with the size chart for the current offering... Buyer beware! If you're...

Taylor Stitch x Golden Bear Moto Jacket

I have a Cuyama jacket expected at the end of this month. It's made in Turkey, but the leather looks similar to the Golden Bear Jackets. I hope it's not ORANGE!

Taylor Stitch x Golden Bear Moto Jacket

So a few words of caution here: Because so many of the Aeros are custom made, sleeve length, etc., is not consistent. You can't really really rely on the size tag--Instead, you need to go by measurements, which unfortunately, are also notoriously inaccurate. Also, while you can try to resell a...

Taylor Stitch x Golden Bear Moto Jacket

Here's my 2 cents: As someone recently noted in another thread, no one at TFL comes here to save money... The fact is, we're here because we appreciate the jackets, including the thrill of the hunt and subtly of the details. And any route you take will cost you money, whether that's hunting...

    Thoughts about fit?

You could alway's follow @ton312 's lead and take the measurements from this jacket to create V2. It might cost you twice what a preowned coat would, but it would probably be a lot closer to what you want. The good news is you can hopefully sell this one to recoup most of what you've invested.

    Thoughts about fit?

I agree with the peanut gallery: The sleeves and shoulders look fine, but the front is 2-3 inches too short for my taste and mid-rise jeans.
