    I even think aside from the 1.2mm five star feeling light and the pilling lining that the five star looks rather good after stretching and shaping and adding more grain to it .I ordered 1.6 a few years ago so that's why I seemed to be so upset with this black one .     Get a cheap set of slider replacements.They usually have a size stamped on to the back side . Try out which one fits and get a equivalent higher quality one .If you like the "pull tap" on the old one then get a "open" slider and insert the old one if it fits . That's how the "easy" repro zips...

    I mean it can go both ways I think.Aero probably has enough orders that they don't want to cut up usable hides into pieces that will get thrown away. SB has less customers I think and are more eager to get new ones.

    Round 1 was someone's discovery of five star leather which seems to have put Pakistan on to the map . Round 2 is a different factory I have been working with that may or may not make a better leather jacket in the end . I am a German ordering something in Pakistan

    The more naturally finished hide is similar in temper and feel to vansons horsehide and looks very similar too. If you add a shiny top coat then it looks more like the shiny stuff from Japan .
