@ProteinNerd
Thank you very much. You answered all my questions.
Carrie and Moria did a great job.
I have asked because i ordered nearly the same jacket but with a Highwayman collar.
Our measurements are in shoulder, P2P nearly the same. But i will stick with my size 40 because i already have a...
Hi ProteinNerd, can you tell me what alterations to the design did you made and why you are sizing to a size 38 Sheene from your size 42 Board Racer. I thought the difference is more like one size. May i ask what are your measurements and which measurements has the jacket?
Thanks
The jacket looks one size to big. The weight of the excess material at the back is pulling the jacket down. You may size down 1 size but not 2. Other solution is to go with a 1930 Half Belt style because this jackets are longer in the front then in the back. You don't need shoulder gussets. Or...
Edited my post. I have to apologise because i don't want to spread a false statement (today better known as alternative facts).
Some of my jackets are made by Moira Mac and she always did a perfect work. If i will consider a Cafe Racer or when ordering my Sheene i would be glad if she will make...
Some things to add.
Thank you all for your advise and tips.
I will go with 1 chest pocket because I dont want another jacket with 2 slanted chest pockets because i already own one:
I prefer the cafe racer fit. The cafe racer is more V-shaped and the board racer is a a straighter fit.
Here...
Thank you all for your advise.
Now I'm thinking I got a plan:
Brown CXL (never had steer so it will be my first)
Olive contrast stiching
Antique brass hardware, diamond pull on chest pocket
Standard zip sleeves
Single back yoke, no guessets
No zippers on handwarmer pockets
No inner or outer...
I'm thinking about to order a Aero Sheene in brown FQHH. I like the fit of the Cafe Racer and Sheene. I already know my size and measurements.
But what about the details?
Zippers or no zippers on handwarmer pockets? I'm leaning to no zippers.
Zippers on sleeves or button cuffs?
What kind of...
Well done Fonzie! Killer jacket and perfect fit.
I think keeping the inner kidney panel not only protects the lining but also get you a nice drape as the back is heavier at the bottom.
I like the double side adjusters and i like the clean look without a belt.
Do you have seen the pictures from Simmons Bilt on Instagram:

I like them both and would keep them both. In my opinion it is not worth losing about a grand turning it over and getting a 42.
If you stay in good shape you will wear them both. If not some of us will gain weight others will lose weight so you are prepared for both ;)
If you wear the jackets...
My 2 cents: Add 1' to the body length, 1-1,5' to the sleeves and order a jacket without the shoulder gussets or with an action back to get rid of the "ripple across the back".
