    The jacket looks one size to big. The weight of the excess material at the back is pulling the jacket down. You may size down 1 size but not 2. Other solution is to go with a 1930 Half Belt style because this jackets are longer in the front then in the back. You don't need shoulder gussets. Or...

    I like them both and would keep them both. In my opinion it is not worth losing about a grand turning it over and getting a 42. If you stay in good shape you will wear them both.     My 2 cents: Add 1' to the body length, 1-1,5' to the sleeves and order a jacket without the shoulder gussets or with an action back to get rid of the "ripple across the back".
