" The Great British Hat Makers "

I posted this in the WHAYWT thread and I am reposting here upon request of @Steve1857. This is my Moores Homburg with side pinches and a tear drop crown, which I had mistakenly thought was a Lord's Hat. My trusted source says it's from the 1930's but I'm certainly no expert so please don't shoot...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Will do but I don't think the other paper label has any visible markings left on it ... I'll check again and snap another photo if it does.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Thanks! You are correct, I ignored the brim binding and went with Lord's Hat due to the side pinches and no center crease but I was probably being too presumptuous ... it's just one of my many flaws. :D

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

My Moores Homburg with side pinches and a tear drop crown, which I mistakenly thought was a Lord's Hat. My trusted source says it's from the 1930's but I'm certainly no expert so please don't shoot the messenger. That said, please do let me know if you have more accurate dating information.

Personally, I don't think these two look out-of-place ... in fact, you might set a new trend!

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

My vintage hat made for McManus & Riley, a men's clothing store based in Albany, NY that closed in 1967. Based on the plastic tip liner, my best guess is that this lid is from the 1950s but please let me know if you have more accurate dating information.

My Adam Salisbury Premier Quality. Based on the plastic tip liner, I'm guessing this hat was made sometime in the 1950s or 1960s but please correct me if you have more reliable dating information.

    THE MALLORY MILE

My Mallory Retriever Premier Quality hat made for M. Shwartz & Co in downtown Poughkeepsie, NY. Given the plastic tip, my best guess is that this lid is from the mid-1950s up until the mid-1960s before the appearance of the "Mallory by Stetson" brand but please correct me if I'm off-base.

    Dunlap Drive-In

I took a brief break from my stingy-brim infatuation to sample this 1950's Dunlap Supreme pork pie produced for B and B Clothes Shop in Ogden, Utah

    The Berg Ballroom

I might be mistaken but I believe this lid is actually a "Lord's Hat". Hopefully, someone that knows better can corroborate.

    The Dobbs Diner...

My Dobbs Twenty, which is likely from the 1950's based on the prevailing wisdom here.

    Going Atomic With Dalton

Thanks, barring any updated dating information I guess it's safe to assume that any non-Dalton His Excellency hats were made sometime between 1952 and 1964.

    Going Atomic With Dalton

Some more background information on Men's Hats, Inc. below as posted by Neophyte in the AAQGAA thread ... "M.S. Levy and Sons merged with the New England Panama Hat Company and Brigham Hopkins Co. in 1939, operating under the name of Men's Hats, Inc.. The business was prominent in both the...

    Going Atomic With Dalton

Your Dalton has an "E" in the eagle's chest. My Men's Hats "His Excellency" also has it but it seems that the non-His Excellency hats that have an eagle have a "D" instead.

    Going Atomic With Dalton

I think I cracked the mystery ... my hat was produced by Men's Hat, Inc after they bought Dalton in 1952 per nebo's post in this thread several years ago.
