I finally caught a glimpse of some brown undertone the other day on my jacket. I really dig Horween CXL.
Your jacket is really starting to look better every time you post it.
Your jacket is finally MAYBE starting to look like it MIGHT be breaking in. lol.
Starting to look good. Does your jacket have a hint of brown to it, or is it just the lighting?
Thanks for the response, buddy. That is so hard to believe. I ordered my 634s from SE and they took a little over a week to get hemmed and shipped to Cleveland. I thought that was pretty good. I am thinking about getting some 888s and I think SE is out of my size. I was thinking about going...
I have had a few pairs. I had the roper bones in deerskin and the gauntlet bones. The deerskin ropers were no match for a rottweiler puppy. lol. my rott chewed up my ropers so I ordered the gauntlet ones.
The deer is very soft and flexible. I think they would hold up well in a slide, if ever...
Your Horween looks a little different (no scratches and a little grainier). I'll try and pay attention to it and see how it ages. I know I will put this jacket to the test. Other than my Carhartt, it will be the only jacket I wear until warmer weather comes my way.
I went back and had a closer look. There are scuffs, scrapes, and scratches EVERYWHERE. lol. I just made a few new ones with my fingernail. Does your 6oz hide scratch easy? I am thinking it is just a traight of Horween CXL?
Just look at our very own TMitchell. He looks very "age appropriate" in his "young guy only" cross zips. I think he looks a little out of place when he wears an "age appropriate" half belt. I couldn't even picture him wearing an A-2. lol. Motorcycle jackets just look "right" on him.
All the...
I am not really sure DoubleH. I know it came with some nicks and scratches here and there when I received it. I have been wearing it every day, and I shoveled snow in it already. I am thinking CXL probably gets scuffed up more than other leathers, not really sure.
^^^ @Monitor, That guy is rockin his jacket, but, isn't it considered oversized? Looking at the shoulders, arms, and waist, most on this forum would say it is 1 or 2 sizes too big.
Looks like it is settling down ever-so-slightly. Looking good Mr.F. You and I received our jackets on the same day. I have been wearing mine as much as possible, also.
I asked for the "blackest, smoothest, shiniest" hide from JL. I would say they picked a pretty good one for me. I was worried...
Awesome pic Will. Actually, my very first activity in my new motorcycle jacket wasn't riding a motorcycle, it was shoveling snow last weekend. lol. I used one of the Ton methods of breaking in a new leather jacket.
On a serious note, all you East Coast guys be careful, shoveling heavy snow is...
I tend to side with El Marro. I prefer a little more room than too tight. I am always putting stuff in my pockets and tight jackets make that harder to do and more uncomfortable. Plus, nobody wants to see a "dad bod" in a tight anything. lol.
