Agreed. And also yes I think it was a different product than the 2010/2020 era RMC and so potentially the customer base.
Yes the leather on some of those early 90s RMC looks pretty terrible. The antithesis of “nice leather”, whatever one’s preferences may be.
I see quite a few of those early RMC xHD jackets on yahoo jp. They don’t seem to me that expensive relatively speaking (around 400-600 GBP).
Two problems for me: they are massively undersized and the leather looks kind of cheap (forget about shinki). I love the early cycle champ design but I...
@MrProper you are slim and tall, you can get away with everything!
On the opposite end of the spectrum it’s me, short with short legs. Wide trousers and high cuffs and I end up looking like I have stubs instead of legs.
Skinny Tapered jeans/pants I hate them profoundly and I think we’ll look...
Why going out of your way to tell someone that their brand new jacket looks like something from a mall…. Or Wilson’s discount rack from last year’s… come on… plain disrespectful and unnecessary.
Blood eagle has all the rights to be irritated. I would be.
Well, preferences aside Toys McCoys jackets are made in very small batches so pretty hard to come by.
I don’t know also any western based shop that carries them so I think quite rare outside of Japan.
I think it’s quite a nice fit, I’d be very satisfied with that.
The arms need to settle but I don’t think they are too bulky. But then again I dislike when they fit like a second skin.
Final verdict from me: keep it! :D
I feel the same about Thedi.
Amazing craftsmanship and finishing but just never saw one I wanted to own.
I don’t know why but I find that there is almost a disconnect between the design and the overall look and feel of the jackets. Especially for the more vintage Americana inspired designs I...
I love this jacket, if it were a bit shorter or wider at the hem I would have kept it.
Just vouching for Stu, he doesn’t have many messages but it’s been a pleasure and stand up guy to do business with.
GLWS
The FW and the RMC are exponentially better jackets than the Vanson in my opinion. I don’t need to handle a 1000 jackets to see that. It’s like comparing White’s boots to… i don’t know Edward Green’s. Does that mean I cannot enjoy a pair of White’s? Obviously not.
The Vanson fits dude better...
Vanson perfect t-shirt fit, FW outstanding jacket and I think it also fits you pretty damn well. I vastly prefer the FW :-)
RMC I think you might do better with a 40 in the new 2021 fit.
Leather jackets and tailoring isn’t always an easy combination but I would suggest looking at something like Valstar. Here is more moto/workwear style so not many example of people wearing tailoring with leather jackets.
^yep that one. Think you end up with a similar effect. One day I like it, another day I feel it’s a bit much and I’d rather get a nice brown jacket. Not 100% convinced.

Looks like a nice tea-core leather to me. Doesn’t horween has a similar one? Milan or something like that…
Factory? I thought it was a room behind the store front where all the sewing took place. They had a proper factory but it was long gone?
Anyway, fine I thought I read that the new owner had to go back to the LL jackets of a few decades before the purchase to re-create the right patterns. Not...
Don’t want to open a can of worms, but isn’t nowadays LL just a licensed copycat? if that’s the term…
I mean the guy bought the rights and trademarks and copied stitch for stitch the originals but in a way it’s not the “original” company. A bit what RMC does with the Buco label in my view...
The man’o’thousand rings!!! Yes he does pop up on my IG often too…
So many questions though, I think the jackets are his last problem!
But it can get worse…
