Arrived just now:
Pilgrim "Westerner" (not sure if name for just this hat or their whole western line)
4 5/8 at the pinch, 3 1/2 brim.
Nice dark taupe with contrast binding and 3 cord. Hard to get the color right in the photo as usual.
From Fellow Lounger Scott of "Fine Vintage Fedoras".

Here is a cheap buy of a Resistol 4X Beaver made during the early 80's (I think) when crap was coming out swift and plentiful for the "Urban Cowboys". Color and proportions are great, felt is well......made from rabbit and shaved rats (perhaps even a chipmunk ?). Lets just say it is rather...
Earlier in this thread I posted a new (old) eagle hat pin (wondering what hat to put it on).
Later I posted a picture of my 1889/99 Campaign hat in response to a question about campaign bows.
(Which got me to get the hat out and freshen it up).
Then Yesterday I find the two of them...
Close examination and one can see the Photo Shop/AI. It really disturbs me what AI can do to history. There have been many scandals created lately with fake photos, recordings and soon video.....all seen quite real but AI was used. Problem is people believe this crap........they don't seem to...
Has anyone here even heard of "Stockman" hats from California" Apparently Elvis had one as seen here.
Searched everywhere including here and the Elvis hat is all I have found......

People are used to me here in my town and circles, I DO often get POSITIVE comments from others, especially women (of all ages, which is something for a fat old guy). Often "dapper" or just "well dressed" is used. Sometimes people will ask if I am coming from or going to: church, court, or a...
I believe that is a hat retailer from Wisconsin.........
EDIT: Here is their tip logo from a Panama I have.....not exactly the same but they did use a couple of different logo's through the years......
All this talk of Campaign Bows made me get out my 1889/99 (edit) 5X Beaver Campaign Hat.....It had been away for a while. I Brushed up, re-freshened the flange and re-creased it in a nice deep double gutter. I am glad this subject came up as it will now be back in rotation to WEAR! ;)
Mike, that is not a ribbon. It is a sweat guard. Ribbon goes over it. I have a few boaters with one behind the ribbon. This is found on the nicer ones......;)
Here we have a circa 1890 Large format business card. Unusually, THIS Hatter also advertises cleaning services (rather than the other way around), Suits Cleaned and Pressed!;)
Yes, I have two of these. Nice hats.....
I even have a German made Dobbs!
I always suspected the appearance of these US brand, license made hats were made for the "Oversees American" market. There were a LOT of US service and government personnel oversees and it makes sense to offer brands...
West meets the "Eastern Girl" 1932
In this catalog they introduce Stetson's Ladies Riding Hats (of which I have acquired three soft 3x'ers) from the mid-30's posted here...
