I think Eric Kennington, UK is a fantastic artist. Joined up in WWI - did great paintings there, later to be the "official war artist" of WWII. He's not only a painter but also a sculpture. Unfortunately I had no luck finding one website dedicated to his works - but try a google. You will not... -

First of all I read everything I could get my little dirty fingers at on Royal Air Force, escapes from POW camps, bombing raids and the spitfire pilots during my childhood. The second kick came with the movie: Battle of Britain in '68. Got my first "Irvin" (From Simon Green at ALC) some years...- Spitfire

Gloverall Duffel coat sizing
Hi Jeff - Just PM'ed you. After looking at their website I think I got you wrong. Thought you talked about a size small - measuring 25" pit to pit. Are these facts you have from their website? These coats are rather roomy - it was important to wear lots of layers underneath on those cold nights...- Spitfire

Books about WW2 from a German perspective
Len Deighton: Bomber - a novel, but build on a lot of research. Telling the fictional story of a small german town, bombed by RAF - by mistake. The brilliant book follows both the RAF crews, the Luftwaffe nightfigthers and the locals in the fictional german town. A fantastic read! -

The story of a pilot
Another brave pilot from 85 Squadron. They really fought hard in those early days of the war. Somehow the Battle of France is getting overshadowed by the Battle of Britain - but that was where it all stated. Thank you for posting this interesting clip. -

I saw it the middle 60's when I was a kid and it made a huge impression on me, back then. Maybe you should look for some of the more resent re-makes of it,as far as I've read there's plenty of action, sex and violence. -
Things you bought because they appeared in the Fedora Lounge
My first post here - many moons ago - was on the white RN sweater. Also used by BoB pilots. To day I have two of them. I was also helped/inspired to buy a RAF Type B Flying helmet, Mk II goggles and oxygen mask. Can you believe that? You guys....are impossible!- Spitfire

Does wearing vintage Get you noticed by the opposite sex?
I don't dress vintage - so it must be something else ;) Naaa...the only "vintage" I have is my Irvin jacket and some scarfs, cravats etc. And I must admit that my Irvin sometimes attracts the opposite sex. Some want to touch and cuddle - others just wants to borrow it, when it's freezing cold...- Spitfire
