"Thirty Things that Need to Stage a Comeback"

My god I haven't seen this in ages! I shall have to read it over again, to remember what those 30 things were!! I believe one of them was fountain pens.

Photographs of my new radio... The wallet photograph on my desk is of my late grandfather (1907-1983). Taken probably ca. 1950.

    What are you listening to?

Enjoying my 'new' replica vintage G.E. radio. Listening to the local radio station "Golden Days Radio". Current song on the air: "I've Got the World on a String". ...next track... Now it's the Mills Brothers, singing "Sweet Georgia Brown".

    Typewriters

I see...three, maybe four Olivers...one L.C. Smith & Bros., one Remington Portable, at least two Coronas, maybe two or three Smith-Premiers...Not sure about the rest.

That is a BEAUTIFUL bicycle! I wish I could take up cycling again, but sadly, that's not possible.

I just transfer the food to somewhere else cold, unplug the fridge and leave the door open overnight with a drip-pan underneath.

My solution - flush often during each session, before you're done. It relieves the overall load on the system, regardless of its age.

Bought a bargain Panama and need some info

It looks a bit like my Panama when I got it. Which was rather middle-grade. I doubt it's bad quality, but it's not first-rate, either. Just be happy with it. And be glad that it's not one of those cheap paper-mache hats that are so wildly popular today.

    Show us your radios!

How often do these bulbs blow? The seller said the radio was hardly used. I know how to solder stuff. I used to do it in highschool technology classes. If it's just a matter of melting the old solder, removing the old bulb, sticking on a new bulb and melting fresh solder on, I reckon I could...

Show us your Vintage Office Supplies.

In my ongoing quest to vintagify my bedroom and my desktop, I found this little number at a junk-shop in town. No idea how old it is, but it reminded me of those art deco staplers from the 1930s... You load it by pressing a button at the back of the stapler, and the staple-drawer pops...

    Show us your radios!

Please don't bite my head off. I need it for living. And breathing. And conversing. And eating. And drinking. And seeing, smelling, tasting and hearing. Also, it's where I keep my hats. I have found a really neat-looking vintage reproduction radio for sale. For those wondering what it...

$3.00 on a valet. Wow, someone actually managed to get a better deal than I did...I didn't think that was possible! Out of curiosity, what are those cases/boxes meant to be used for?

    Skills For "Living The Era"

The idea that a lavatory system was designed not to be used with toilet paper of at least one kind, is absolutely ludicrous. Unless there's a hose attached to the toilet, then it's designed to be used with loo-paper.

I believe mine cost me about the same. $15-$20.00. I'd been after a pair for a while. Dad tends to like going to the theater every now and then, and sometimes I like going with him. I wanted to enjoy the shows more, so I bought myself a pair.
