Mother's Day Weekend
The Oyster Bar at one of our favorites, Meritage, St. Paul, for Saturday brunch. Disney 15, received just a few days earlier.
Leaves have not yet sprouted on many a tree, but Spring was in the air. Surprised that not one patron had opted to dine outside prior to our...
Thanks, Blackthorn!
Thank you, feltfan, I appreciate the kind remarks. There is no reference to "Cavanagh Edge", "Self-Felted Edge", or a proprietary version thereof anywhere on the hat.
Your Caxton is splendid! Beautiful, with interesting details.
Thank you for the kind feedback, Josh, I appreciate it!
The hat appears not to have been worn much, if at all, and I feel the crease may have been period applied, so that is one of the reasons I left it as is. I also rather like it, and think it suits the size and shape of the crown very well!
Thanks, David! At 6" creased the Caxton is my tallest crown yet, and approaching the height of your pinnacles!
I really like that Tumwater on you. Always looks great.
Caxton Beaver Twenty
Bummer about your car, Steve, but your Echter Borsalino Homburg looks smashing!
I wore my Caxton Beaver Twenty this afternoon after getting home from work.
Hat details and additional photos in the Caxton Cafe.
Caxton Beaver Twenty
Received my first Caxton hat today, and thought I would start a thread to gather together examples of hats from this fine maker.
I am very impressed with my Caxton Beaver Twenty. Felt is dense, smooth, substantial, and eminently moldable. The front pinches hold a...
Ed: Thanks! Yes, it looks like despite the fact that it is already mid-May we will be able to continue wearing our fur felts a bit longer.
Perry: Looking dapper this Monday morning! Thank you for your kind comment.
Barbisio "Lugano" & Optimo Milan
Barbisio Lugano on a cold, windy, and rainy Saturday. Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis for Stravinsky's Le Sacre Du Printemps, or Rite Of Spring.
Cool but sunny Sunday morning at a yard sale in St. Paul.
Warming up nicely by lunch, "Eat Street"...
Rusty: Excellent set of photos. They give those of us not fortunate enough to be able to be there in person(at least not yet) the opportunity to experience the visit vicariously!
Eric, a wonderful photo, well worth your effort and...priceless! It was a glorious Spring day, was it...
Many thanks for the kind comments, gentlemen!
Trombone: lol Hard to believe, that here in the Northwoods there can be productive estate sales, but there are. Just this past weekend there was a nice estate sale in St. Paul, in the Highland Park area on Edgecumbe, at the largest estate left in...
