Let us know how it works.
I never understood why people read "guides" like this - they all seem to me like simple money schemes. [huh]
Constraining oneself to behave "according to the rulebook" must be awkward.
Secondly, the impression I have (from reviews... correct me if wrong), is that the...
To clarify a bit on ADEFA:
First the time-frame: It was founded in 1933, the D denoting ¨Deutsch/German¨, from 1934-38 it was changed to ¨Deutsch-Arisch/German-Aryan¨,
then back to ¨German¨ and in August 1939 ADEFA was dissolved, when the last Jewish businesses were ¨aryanized¨.
The...
Qirrel has done a very good job! Congratulations!
Yes, you look like you stepped out one of those Romanian photos.
The bunny ear suspender straps add to the Central European flavor.
(For good measure stop shining your shoes.)
Where the legs tapered at some later point? If so I'd say 1930's - tapered down in the 50's.
If they were tapered that way originally, I'd say either late 20's/early 30's or early 50's (made in an older fashion).
The raised "fishtail" with buckle (and lack of pleats) makes an early date...
Oh, don't get me wrong... I was merely pointing out that Retro Spectators "hypothetical exercise" regarding ways to "ensure human survival" has no relation to reality.
@ Retro Specator
Uhmm.... trying to follow your reasoning here.
"Marriage" and "morals" do not occur in human nature. They are social/cultural constructs.
If you say that it is human nature to seek sexual partners, why is biological human survival dependant on "marriage of moral persons"...
Ha. Lot's of 1930-40's related stuff is being advertised in Germany as either 1920's (which is quite a fad right now) or 1950's.
I figure it is in part to shun the "touchy period".
A-2 jackets, as any uniform or military item, of course has a much stronger, specific political/historical symbolism.
Civilian clothes are neutral - if one is fair and objective about it.
Occasionally in Germany (if people are even able to recognize the period of the clothing) 30-40's clothing...
I won't shun a garment just because it has the label. But I don't fetishize it and don't value it more highly than any other period clothing.
And one shouldn't think that garments without this label are not connected to the political background of this period.
One has to keep in mind: Jews...
The photo Metatron is referring to is titled "cuplu" and was uploaded yesterday. It's nothing lewd. Just a rather "handsy" he embracing his wife/girlfriend.

Some more sport suits and odd combinations:
White shoes for the tux:
Going by seller descriptions one can conclude that every leather garment coming from Germany was used by super secret Luft-Gestapo Elite Stormtroopers.
Thanks guys. European leisure shirts are an interesting niche...
here (Berlin 1947) a leisure shirt with square buttons.
(Yes, I know it's hard to focus on the buttons... ;) )

Here also a zipped jersey sport shirt I made... it...
Hm. Women are the main bread winners of around 40% of US households... the great majority of which are (quote) "single mothers — who are more likely to be younger, black or Hispanic, and less educated".
Raising a child alone with a minimum wage job (or two) is hardly a benchmark of female...
