*^%# 'em.
I was gauche' and wrote them a one word e-mail reading: Size?
I once worked at Christie's Auction House in NYC.
They will sell anything they think they can make $$$ on.
I would have no more compunction about asking that question than I would the guy at the flea market.
They...
All I can tell you is that my 82 yr. old FIL was/is (AS HE THINKS OF HIMSELF AS 35 YRS. OLD) a real, honest to G-D Alberta cowboy on the high plains (The the roughest, toughest, rootinest, shootinest, drinkinnest, fightinest!). He always wears both suspenders & a belt with a vest worn with a...
I have a "Joe Fedora" polyprop "milan". It looks great, hard to tell it's not straw. But I haven't really worn it this summer, but it is a heavier hat than a Panama (as is a real milan).
Do you think that my above "Sokool" might be a non-straw construction, cause it has kept me quite cool.
Trade(s) considered?
I know this is a moving sale but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Lovely & rare item. Like the Hoyt Hat Co.'s "Demon Hanover". Even though I would have to stretch it up a size, that is special!
You know how it is, there you are in your panama strolling down the avenue on a hot & sunny day, I don't care How much shade you find, it is almost too hot to wear a hat 'cause you are sweating like a pig... my solution------------>
A sokool, perfect in every way, but the sweatband must...
About as you would hope, the brim sits on the flange & heads off at a more or less 90 degree angle. The tension on the interior seems to aid this. I'd take a photo of it in My AB now, were I not so wiped... and today is only Monday! :eusa_doh:
A couple of new stretchers
Just because I do not have enough hats, I got these to increase my options!
Deep w/ a wide flange.
Don't have this one yet in hand... looks interesting though.
well done
A good match, no batteries required old school photovoltaic classic. What are you shooting with? Old Nikon RF? Leica m series, Voigtlander ? just nosy! :o
Minolta flash III
I have a good well working Minolta flash III that measures ambient as well as flash exposures. Might be a bit of overkill though. $100 USD inc. shipping.
I also have a ton of Nikon 35mm film cameras/lenses, if interested. They are old enough to be "vintage" if not...
Very cool! Can you do bigger sizes- for a jacket, say? Like so:
'cuz I love the designs- HATE THE JACKET.
I know at work, we have a mfg. of logo workwear we use & he has the computer program w/ our college logo, but since the one thing he does not carry is scrubs, he will allow us to send...
Thanks. I am grieving.
Mr. F said of the hat "It's obviously parabuntal but I wasn't aware they were woven this early nor that there was a market in Japan." (para-"fine" + buntal- "straw" in Tagalog-i.e. Filipino).
Look for it soon in a classified section near you.
A bit of live steam from the kettle & some gentle manipulation by hand may well put it right. Put something firm, a glass or bowl, behind the crown as you attempt to flatten the creases caused by the careless and errant butt that used it for a seat. Love the ribbon! Good luck.
