Louis the Hatter Bowler, 7 3/4, 1950s? Gone to eBay
I was told by the seller of this excellent bowler that it was from her grandfather's estate, I believe from the Detroit area, purchased in the 1950s. It is marked "Louis the Hatter," and is in excellent condition. It fits me well, and I'm a pretty true 7 3/4 long oval. Sweatband, liner...- frussell

Good Man I loved that post. I spent years walking by homeless people in my younger days. Having lived a little more, I'm a lot less scornful of people who are less fortunate, and pretty much always have an extra shirt that I don't wear anymore in the back of my car for just such purposes... -

eBay Stetson Thanks Randooch. The "new" acquisition is a 5X Stetson "Cowboy" model in a color called Ranch Tan. Got a great deal, just need to decide if it's for conversion or to keep for riding. I have plenty of good cowboy hats, so I intended to convert this one since bidding started... -

Hey folks. I've got an old hat from American Hat Co. in Houston that my grandfather gave me at least twenty years ago. It was old when somebody gave it to him. I had it stretched out to my size back then, (7 and 3/4), which took up some of the brim. It's never had a real shape that suited... -
