    When I am passing someone, I sometimes say "excuse me." It lets them know I'm there so they don't run into me, and it's nicer than saying "get out of my way."     I agree. I think your dark brown hair looks great! When I dyed my hair dark brown, a few people, especially older men including my father, treated me with more respect.

    One problem with the above photos together is that they were shot in different lighting. Notice how the upper photo is grayish and underlit, while the lower photo is crisp and bright. If you're in doubt, I suggest checking out the book Color Me Beautiful from your library, if they have it.

    Try looking at yourself in bright sunlight. In dim lighting, my hair looks like it's anything from brown to red. (It's dark ash blond.) Consider what colors people compliment you on, too. That's always a good clue.
