ELC SHOW IN LONDON STARTING 17th of NOV. Who is going?

I partly agree with you Rocketeer that I'd rather put my own spin on my jacket. I had a good chat with Nigel who does a lot of the Timeworn, work. He showed me a bit of what he does and it is pretty convincing in my eyes. He also spent quite a lot of time with me helping me work out fit on...

ELC SHOW IN LONDON STARTING 17th of NOV. Who is going?

Did buy a USN sweater and a VF3 patch, was tempted by Buzz Rickson's Chukka's, but I need to start putting the pennies aside for the BuAER 55J14...

ELC SHOW IN LONDON STARTING 17th of NOV. Who is going?

Went today, have come to the realisation that I actually NEED to get myself an Eastman's G1 and can't see myself buying an A2 elsewhere? The quality of the leather on the G1 made me realise as much as I love my Ralph Edward's G1 that it either needs to be sold or relagated to beater.

ELC SHOW IN LONDON STARTING 17th of NOV. Who is going?

Figured out I can make this, wondering how much will be left by Thursday, although with the exception of one thing, I'm purely going for trying on and seeing in the flesh before I start putting some pennies to the side for an A2.

    ELC US Navy wool sweater

Thanks for the info, looks like as someone whose arguably a 41, but wears the same size in most of the same jackets, I'd be fine with a 40. Last and slightly cheeky question, you couldn't tell me the pit to pit measurement could you?

    Cotton Thermal T-shirts

Hmm, probably the closest, would prefer natural materials from previous experience. Still hoping to find something nearer to the Buzz/ North Sea, but these are good

    ELC US Navy wool sweater

That looks GREAT Stand By. Have never been sure about their necks, but I think your post sold me on one? Are you usually a 40 in Jackets? Wish I could make it up to the ELC Pop-up but working or helping to organise a Strike for some of my Brothers and Sisters on the Railways. American Classics...

    Cotton Thermal T-shirts

Been trying to find something like the below. There's a great shot blown up in the USAF Museum at IWM Duxford, showing a group of pilots and ground crew messing around with the local kids and a baseball bat that I can't find online. They mostly seem to be wearing Long Sleeve T's rather than...

Skinny lapels - ties - collars?

Not sure whether this really belongs in the Outerwear thread... The gradual narrowing of lapels and ties was partly due to the rising influence of the Ivy League look- although this in it's self was only a slightly narrower cut at first anyway. It was also very much a fashion statement, moving...

OUT-STANDING! Is the suit un-darted to complete the '40s Ivy League Professor look?

    Altering M1951 Trousers

My Tailor's wife took one look at them and smiled and said "easy"! They've kinda turned down their operations now, but since both have a history of making clothes, they seem to be able to reconstruct most things to fit me. You wouldn't know it because they're tucked away at the back of a large...

Now Forming! the Campaign Hat Corps

Damn... it's pictures like this that make me want a Campaign Hat, but realistically, how much would I wear it?

Wouldn't mind something not a million miles way from the aviation greens worn in The Bridges at Toko-Ri
