We did the Watercress Lines War on the Line last month. Probably as many Re-enactors as regular passengers, American, British (civillian and military),Resitence and Soviet. Axis Re-enactors were in theory banned, but there were 2 'SS POWs' who were being moved about by MPs.
Getting back to War...
Lot of people in full on SS gear though. I don't really have a problem with the u-boat and navy, the Luftwaffe, even the regular wehrmacht. But there were some seriously dodgy t-shirts and items for sail. I'll stop peering into that can of worms now, since I think we all know it's there...
Was there today with mini me, wish I'd spent more time looking at living history, but spent some time in Home Front area. Managed to blag a lift in for us in a Jeep, which was better than the shuttle bus!
Eastman have a reasonable stall and all the usual European repro stalls, including one...
Maybe going off topic here, but I'm looking for an A1 style baseball/ varsity jacket, 100% wool. Something like the above from ebbets, but logoless and not leather sleeves. Lined, to make it warm enough for winter. Preferably not in green as well?
Any suggestions?
Sorry to bump this, but this is a gap in the wardrobe I really wanna fill. I'm particularly interested in finding out more about the 4 pocketed style of cloth/ summer flight jacket as well as hearing any feedback on different repros.
Just dug this up. Was about to invest in a Buzz Rickson's AN6551, but they've sold out of all sizes but 36 in the uk/ Europe store. Anyone make a decent MIL-J-7758 other Real McCoy's?
Tempted by the Haley Aviation AN6651, but would like to see better pictures than they have on ebay-...
Some of these have amazing patterns. Shame they're made in China and many of the plans I like are sold out in reasonable sizes.
P51 did you find what you're looking for yet?
I think it mostly looks very good. Have you thought of contacting Aero and enquiring if they'd adjust it for you in the future (or say if you later wanted a G1/ M422a)? Where do you live? I'm currently using Byson /leather to repair a Jacket. It's been a slow process, but I'm yet to hear a bad...

Fine quality pair of shoes, made by a renowned American Manufacturer. A 'toppy' rubber has been added to protect the leather sole at the front , while heel is half rubber insert/ half leather.

Gotta admit that the website was a little off putting, but then you look at the images of what they've done and listening to the testimonials here and you realise not to judge a book by its cover. Also thinking of asking them to replace the moulton, since its suddenly decided to go, growing out...
Broke till the end of the month, my son's birthday on Monday, but will most likely go Byson since they're so highly rated and clearly have experience in fixing this very problem.
